http://www.inmycommunity.com.au/news-and-views/local-news/Imported-quad-bike-inquiry/7615929/

Seeing as they ALL are imported, and there has been plenty of bitching about "dealers", warranty and importers, I'd say this mob are asking, so have a bitch there, where it's needed, with your facts.

I think this is valid. Too many riders will get hurt or killed trying to ride these cheap imports past their limitations. Mechanical failures happen on well known brands when ridden hard, so these cheaper Chinese bikes will fail well before them.

why should chinnese quads be given more scruttiny than the jap/USA quads ? my kids had them and I made sure that before they even sat on it it was as safe as I could get it, and I tell you I looked at several brands and there are good, bad and real bad types out there. and if I let my kids ride it it was safe, and this includes limiting the speed to alow for the quaulity build of these bikes, yet when I bought the 90 raptor should I bothered checking it over because its a Jap bike ? well I gave it the same check the chinese quad got.

At the end of the day we must be responible for our actions, and that includes letting our kids ride quads, bikes what ever, and not depend on a govt dept to make our descision for us.

Sorry, I should not have bit been so specific on the Chinese, as there are other cheaper brands out there that are not designed for an aggressive styled riding too. I also agree that everyone should take responsibility.

Yogie is on the money. It is our responsibility. 1st and foremost.

I've seen plenty of whinge, bitch and bash sessions about various products on forums.

The article was relayed so that people who feel aggreaved can try and use some of what the govt provide, to seak a resolution.

My stance on riding is that we should seek to ride within our own and the machines abilities to suit the conditions. And encourage others to do the same. That applies to racing and other recreational use, including trail riding and using them for work.

As far as issues arising out of maintenance, you use it, you make sure it's cared for. That is the riders responsibility.

As far as kids go. What Yogie said.

Forums are good for asking questions.

Massive generalisation mode on.

People are nothing but useless puppets in a big machine these days. There is no common sense in the current generation that has children. They want to blame someone else for their own screw ups.

Most "blokes" wouldn't even know know what a spanner is let alone how to use one so they buy a product in the shop and ride it till it falls apart and they have a big cry.

This is not going to change and its not going to get any better infact I think it will get much worse. Sadly the government have to panda to the lowest common denominator. We all suffer as a result.
