Hi All, does anyone have a clue as to the running of this event regarding fuel stops.I recon we have 70-80 k's of fuel on board,so the long stages will be a struggle unless we can manage a fuel stop. We can fit an AUX tank, but would rather not,sooo...
Stuff I would like to know please:

Is there fuel available at designated spots along route?(figured this might be the case for quads and bikes maybe)

Can we have a service crew dump fuel enroute?

How long are the stages?

What nav gear to take?

I am guessing there will be a few things to work out for the SXS entrants, but not having run it before,I am flying blind here. Any help would be great.I have emailed the organisers but no reply yet.
Thanks,FOX'N

In regards to the fuel stops and whatnot, i think you would get a better response bringing them up in the Condo Quad section of this forum, The SxS threads seem to be pretty dead most the time...

mate best bet to ring someone out there number on supp regs , i did it on a quad last year and the longest section was 140km but on that stage there was a fuel dump midway and longest single section was 125kms, you would need a service crew at the fuel stops as they drive to certain areas and meet up with you etc re- do your map roller, fuel stops are in designated areas, as for the buggies and sxs i not sure what you would would need quads and bikes use a map roller and trip meter as it a navigation rally but could be different for cars might just be a4 paper and tripmeter but you would have to get that confirmed.

Thanks Morgs, it is coming together a little after talking to a few of the organisers this past week.Looks like we will have to get another fuel cell on board to cover the distances, although, they are willing to help us organize whatever we need along the way, which is fantastic. The first one is always a learning curve, and a whole lot of fun. I hope we get a few of these sxs's involved, I can see it as a positive no matter what. Looking forward to it for sure.
Thanks Heaps,

Hey Roycroft, looks like we might fabricate something to give us a bit more.Seems the best option at this stage, but, time will dictate wheather or not we opt for an extra fuel stop instead.A bit up in the air.Looks like we will have 4 entered for this one, so it's head down arse up again to get us there....never just goes with time to spare.........love it!!!! Are you comin' for a run??
