Queensland Motorcycle Park will now allow Quads to ride the MX Tracks for a minimum of 15 minutes after the hour, every hour on the 1st Sunday of every month. Great news that I know will be welcomed by many. I believe that this was decided based on the pressure from certain individuals from this site. So for that, I thank them.

The dates therefore are; Quad Sundays will be on the First Sunday of every month

- February 5, March 4, April 1, May 6, June 3, July 1, August 5, September 2, October 7, November 4, December 2

Quads will still get track time on other days, providing there are enough numbers.

We are heading down on Sunday to take advantage of this opportunity. Who else is coming???????

I think you can thank a certain QQRA commitee mamber for ensuring this outcome. I pretty sure it was the same guy who was instrumental in making sure the nationals went as well as they did!!!

We will be there around 8:30am and will have a small marquee set up if you would like to store your fuel in the shade.

Looking forward to a good day's riding.

Will have the GoPro with me.

Just got home from our first ride at QLD Moto Park.
To book in for the day is very easy to do if you do it on line before you arrive.
It took us around 10 minutes to sign in at the main office, where you can get drinks and snacks.
The park is very well set up for watching the MX tracks but has very little shade so take your porta shade or you will end up very sunburnt like some of us.
They let us have a ride on both MX tracks with about 25min each time we went out.
There are 3 tracks for the little one to ride that are right in front of the day use parking area so the mums can watch while dad and the bigger kids can tackle the big MX tracks and the trails.
Some of the guys went out on a few trails to see what they are like, by all reports we will need some more time riding and exploring to make a decision on how good they are.
They are still more tracks to come so over the next few months.
By the amount of smiles and tired riders around we will be going back real soon.

Gaz,

I spent most of the day on the MX tracks, (which were absolutely awesome fun, by the way), but did take a run along the Novice track. It was quite rocky and rutted in the steeper sections, but quite easy to negotiate. The track was quite wide and had some fast sections. It was quite long, but is something you could only do two or three times before it became run of the mill. It was far better than the trails at Coomera and, despite the large amount of riders at Wyralong, we only saw 3 while we were on the trail. I have no doubt that when new tracks open up, this will become a very popular place for quads.

I will definately make this a regular destination and would like to say thanks to David and the QQRA crew for their hospitality.

The MX tracks were well watered and quite fast and a definate workout for an old duck like me. It was great to try and match the 'pros' around the track, (though I couldn't) and I learnt heaps from the experience

Cannot wait for the next Quad Sunday at Qld Moto Park.

Over all the 4th was a good day perfect riding conditions on the trails we had a pretty good time out there the trails are not to bad a little narrow in a few spots but nothing that a quad wouldn't fit through I think the only disappointment was the cost of riding it was expensive ... I hope they intend to have a family pass otherwise 2 adults and 3 kids is way too much money for a weekends ride mx and pee wee tracks looked pretty good 2

Even though it was pretty muddy ; the tracks were good.
The mud washed off quite easily compared to sticky clay that you get at Black Duck which can take forever to get off.

thanks scotty.

Dave,

We will get to Manar one of these days. Currently rebuilding jet ski whilst renovating house, so short trips and spare days on the weekend will have to suffice for now.

Have fun!!! hopefully will catch you next time
