Under the current interpretation, you may struggle to do it legally... the authorities seem to think that anything that is not considered a motor cycle is not allowed...
if you want to talk to someone at the beach about this, I'd try and come up before 4 pm, as they generally seem to go home around that time.. |

All buggies including the Oddyssey's are currently not allowed.
As stated above they currently only allow some form of motorcycle, be that with 2 , 3 or 4 wheels.
We used to have a section for buggies but they removed it some time back. |

| This is getting beyond a joke! I have just bought an FL350 with the intention of building it up for my son to ride at Stockton. Just like my father did for me 30 years ago. (Although I had an ATC90) We are getting locked out of more and more of our Australian bush land and ride spots every year all under the guise of concervation , when in fact the opposite is true. Who used to keep the fire trails free of fallen tree's? The four wheel drivers but now we are locked out of more and more trails. Generations of Novacastrians have grown up playing in the dunes yet other than litter it dosnt seem to its detriment, yet mining it's fine! As a nation we are having large problems with overweight adults and children, yet the government seems to be actively trying to discourage a healthy outdoor lifestyle. By letting people out into out natural area's it makes everyone aware of these places and with this understanding of one's environment comes a desire to respect and protect it. I could go on and on but I better go back to paying taxes and taking some moron beauracrats ill advised decisions on the chin. Sorry everyone but my frustrations at this overpaid, inept pack of simpleton's running this country got to me. |

I paid the crazy 12 months rego fee at the RTA and then the beach permit at the servo. When i got there i was told ( rudely ) by the guy standing there under his tent as you come into the main carpark that unless i had the rego papers with me, even though the bike had the rego sticker on etc etc, that i was not permitted to ride on the beach. After driving an hour to get there i was not happy but i complied. Anyways we packed up and went to Redhead which turned out to be a much better idea as the place was awesome.
I was extremely unhappy how the guy at the gate thought it was appropriate to use the word ""profanity removed"" in every sentance with my two young girls standing there.
I used to ride up at Stockton a few years ago and it was never like this. Has anyone has a similar thing happen? _________________ NOS is like hot chicks with STDs. U know u wanna hit it but are afraid of what will happen after u do. |

Just follow the rules it's a good way to spend a half full day.
Wouldnt it be good to get somthing for nothing & make a living off it. People need to think about what we have already givin the aborigonals & how much more we are going to give them, maybe they should be giving us somthing. |

As I said in the heading their own information states in print from their own web site that you only need to display a valid sticker, it does not say you must carry your registration papers.
Here is a copy of it.
Important information for
recreational vehicle users
(All recreational vehicles must have RTA conditional registration
for Stockton Beach, and display a Worimi Conservation Lands
Recreational Vehicle Area Permit.)
The Worimi Conservation Lands Recreational Vehicle Area (RVA) provides
for public safety and the protection of natural and cultural values.
The RVA starts 1.2km south of the Lavis Lane beach entrance. Make sure
you operate you RV only within the white marker poles. It is illegal to
operate RVs elsewhere on the Worimi Conservation Lands.
Please remember:
To ride/drive at Stockton Bight in the WCL you must hold RTA
conditional registration for all quadbikes, motorbikes and all other
recreational vehicles (RVs).
Your RV must clearly display an RTA registration plate and registration
sticker, as well as a current WCL ‘Recreational Vehicle Permit’.
You must operate your conditionally registered RV in the ‘RVA’ only
(refer to map). It is illegal to operate RVs elsewhere in the WCL.
A maximum speed limit of 40km/h applies to Stockton Beach in the
WCL. Reduce this speed to 20km/h
within 100m from pedestrians and other
vehicles. Obey all speed limits.
It is illegal for unregistered vehicles
(including RVs) to operate anywhere in
the Worimi Conservation Lands.
All RTA conditionally registered
Recreational Vehicles are only
permitted to operate within the
Recreational Vehicle Area (RVA).
Make sure you keep within the
white boundary markers.
On-the-spot fines
apply.
Offenders may be
prosecuted.
This document is on this web site
http://www.worimiconservationlands.com/services.php?top=services&category=about&sid=55
and is labelled; info for recreational vehicles. |

| i havn't read a thing that is racist yet ONLY critical of the ones in charge and you must admit some of the rangers like to hastle some have been heard to say that they want us gone so is this the offical word or hiden ajender of NPWS or just over zelas rangers they have been taking photos of cars in the car park and other places and finding out through the rta weather the number plate has quads registered to its owner and where they live they were caught doing this i had a phone call some time back by i think the head of NPWS at nelson bay can't remember his name it wasn't important at the time but now it is and the only thing he was interested in was finding the rider of a white quad that ran him over a couple of years ago he denied it but i think he is pushing to get us off the beach and has an axe to grind with all of us over it but as i said to him there is bad in every group and i would'nt like to be run over but you can't persicute all of us because of 1 idiot i don't know the cercumstances of the incident though ive not heard of a 4 wheal drive being fined for being out side of there zoneas apparently they shouldn't be in our zone is that right |

Tracking car rego to quad rego is ridiculous, what if you borrowed a ute from one of your mates who doesn't own a quad? do they get a fine for not having an ATV registered in their name?
Surely this is a breach of the privacy act, considering you are not breaking any rules having a registered car parked in the carpark or anywhere else for that matter.
What is this sh1t? guilty before proven innocent? |

It would be nice if all the authorities that are involved in this situation could widen thier focus, perhaps they could use their observational skills to try and apprehend those responsible for the continueing damage that seems to occur in the car park every weekend.
Tens, probably Hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of vehicles and personal property has been destroyed (mostly by fire, though I did hear of 4 or 5 cars that had been rammed together .. probably by some drunken 4x4 driver NB, I am not a 4x4 hater, there a currently 6 double differs in my yard.) in and around the car park..
I would not like to think what might happen to some poor Quader who stumbled upon such a scene, I wouldnt want to hang around in a secluded area with some pyromaniac (or drunken vandal or insurance fraudster).... my advice would be exiting at a pace somewhat more than 40kph.
Just on the NPWS Rangers, taking pictures of vehicles/ registration numbers.. that they assumed to be transporting atv's, I witnessed them doing exactly that from an area that is clearly marked as private property (IE not Worimi or NPWS controlled land)... The land owner had definately NOT given permission for them to be there..
I guess they gave themselves a stern warning for being in an area they were not supposed to be.....
EDIT, Mods, perhaps it is time the 3 or 4 thresds on this subject were merged? |

A person from another site mentioned that a female Ranger was assaulted and chased on Stockton beach... something to do with somebody scurfing behind a 4x4.. I cant recall this incident, can anybody shed some light on it?
according to the person I was talking to, the perpertrator was caught. hope he had the book thrown at him. |

Here..Here, they are only someone trying to do their job, weather that be considered right or wrong, let alone a female. I understand some rangers may be getting potentially out of control and power hungry, but hopefully with a change of attitude by ALL, we can start to work together?????????????? _________________ LTR 450 no 187 |
