Howdy gents, it seems with the new found proactive movement and the positive change in attitudes we are starting to head in the right direction. So how do you all feel about a social group meeting and starting to register so numbers. I do strongly believe that ozpilot's knowledge of the past events will be extremely helpful as it sounds like he has already done some hard yards. The more we investigate the scenario the more positive it sounds. If anybody is interested in any of the suggestions made please pm me so I know I'm trying this for a purpose.

why is it that all this is happening only since National Parks & Wildlife aka the fun police has taken over 4 or 5 years ago womri don't seem to mind us being there its NPWS that want us off this seems to be how they work take over then kick every body out to keep it for the kids they've been saying this for years well im one of the kids and i want to use it now thanks. there was non of this when it was the council running it. Now who actually owns the land from the back of the beach to the back of the lagoons bikes and buggies have been riding in there for 20 years or more and it hasn't changed but its safe from 4 wheel drives

I started hunter atv club back 20 years ago.
And my solicator had a fit over it so bad I had to close iT.
Insurance back then was 10k a year.
and if i arranged an event and some one got hurt I was liable as a director of the club even though it was not on my land.(stockton)
if you guys are going ahead with this, clear all of the assest from your name.
because you will get hammered by the law.

It's the same deal with the 4x4 club i'm in, the laws and insurance is a nightmare. I honestly don't think it's a club we need to make i think as a group we stand more chance I've rang a few local MP's and they're looking into helping me with this matter.

It's not happening all at once, apparently these rules and regulation have been in place for AGES but the council never enforced it.

also, I think we should stop slandering or abusing the rangers. At the end of the day all they are doing is their job and we can't blame them for making a living whether we agree with what they do or not. If someone came into my shop and told me I was nothing but a f**k wit then I'd not listen to why they think that or help them with an issue.

All in all we need the rangers help and it doesn't help our cause getting on here venting about the rangers or on the beach

Cheers, ButcherBoy

G'day folks, some excellent news today I have spoken to the publican at the General Washington Hotel at Stockton and he is behind our idea 100%. He has also said that we may use the facilities available and can run the social group out of the pub. He also suggested that we will also see many supporters from the local area for the numbers we may require to be heard.
Cheers Brad.

Hopefully I can set a date by Friday for first gathering.

This can't be said strongly enough. Some of the comments (probably all of the negative personal ones) I have read about the rangers have illistrated how little people know about the attitudes and past involvement and actions of the people working as rangers in the dunes - (this is especially so if the riders involved were where they should be as my comment here applies most strongly in relation to the rangers who are in the RVA the most). There are quite a few people out there who know the rangers have tried to help us help ourselves. Their job would be easier if everybody on both "sides" is happy with what is allowed and what is not. I know some of the rangers have tried to bring this about.

Had a return phone call today from MICK MURPHY (national parks and wildlife)discussing a range of things on our agenda.Firstly Mick is sending me a set of overhead plans of the whole stockton beach area.these are for our group at the first get together to put forward the best and safest area which we require to ride quads ,trikes etc where 4x4's are restricted from.Mick today with Adam Faulkner has invited a group of us when appropiate time to sit down and discuss the issues at hand .So we need to get together and start this process.cheers stock8mate.

Ok guys in the space of for days we have really started to change what we can do towards the problems we face. It's now more important than ever to get together and start the numbers and information side. As I said the Washtub is behind us. I didn't chose this location because of being close to me. I'm 45 mins away. It's location is the key, it's local support is the key. The place is not the be all and end all. Where ever is decided we need to come together soon. The ball is now rolling in the right direction. I ll go where ever we decide.

I'm thinking the sooner the better. But people will need a little advanced warning. May be the last Saturday of Feb or the first Saturday of March. The reason I say Saturday is more people seem to ride sat rather than sun. If we start at 11 am people could even squeeze in a ride before or after. It needs to be on a weekend though as I'm sure all lead busy lives. Any other ideas though I'm open.

Things seem to be rolling along nicely, good work guys. Count me in, I will be at the first meeting when it on.
Could you have the meetings on sat one month & sun the next, would give people that sat dont suit a chance to get there.
I was thinking a ride tomorrow would be good, what time you getting there in morning.
