could someone explain the rules to me, we have been told that my sons freind who is 8 can not ride his pretty much stock pro shark at tp as he must be 9, which my son is 9, the rule book states 7-10 upto 90cc 2 stroke limited, and 9-13 years upto 90cc 2 stroke limited ? tp classes are 90 limtied and 90 comp ? its a little confussing what 2 stroke 90cc bike are they talking about in the 7-10 class if hes not aloud to race. or is he aloud to ride but will be classed and points in the 7-10 age group, |

The Pro-Shark MXR90 is not a 'Limited' Junior Quad. It is a 'Comp' Junior Quad so you have to be 9 years old to race one.
7 and 8 year olds can not race 'Comp' class quads. _________________ Can-Am X Team

Now where's that moderators hat of mine...
OH HERE IT IS. BE TOLD ONCE, THIS THREAD WILL NOT TURN INTO A S#IT FIGHT.
As soon as I feel its getting out of hand I will clean it up and I wont be notfying anyone of it. This is about kids on 90's and if you want to be the ugley parent here, well dont, go and do it else where, I'm sure there would be another forum to do that, BUT NOT HERE.

that or some other speed limiting device can make it eligible too, there is scope in the rules for this to happen provided that people are honest about it _________________

The different factory CDI's might have printed numbers or codes that suggest the rpm limit etc, but I don't know which is which.
The CVT ratios, gearbox, and front and rear sprockets and rear tyre diameter would have to be the same for an RPM limit to transfer from one model to another.
Pete W might know more about the different CDI's.
I do know the non CVT Honda TRX90 works exactly this way and has a seperate wire that earths with the 4th gear indicator on the gearbox.
With standard running gear the engine stops making any more power at 48kmh.
Most people would not notice it because they only just get there anyway _________________ Can-Am X Team
