Has any one had any issues with the bolts coming loose on the rear sprocket, I had a bit of a search around and there is a recall on it where they fit locking tabs, mine already has the tabs fitted. I have read that loctite is also only a temporary fix.
It also apears it is a UNF bolt which really sucks (couldn't even steal a bolts off my car to salvage the day)
Any remedies? _________________ I am old and wise because i survived young and stupid |

Stronger loctite?
I've used some that ended up with the bolt head shearing off next time removal was needed.....
So maybe something not quite that strong. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Can you get the nuts with the plastic bush inside(self locking nuts).
Or you can get the ones with little metal tabs like the ones on the a arm bolts on my Raptor 700 they might fit. |

The hub is threaded and the rear of the hub has a bit of an angle. I was thinking of adding a nyloc nut and using a longer bolt but i dont think there will be enough thread length. I have seen a nyloc bolt that had little holes with nylon inserts but I spoke to a bloke at a bolt shop and he looked at me stupid. they are used in generators off old army stuff landrovers/carriers etc. Does any one know where I can get them? _________________ I am old and wise because i survived young and stupid |

I must admit I was waiting for a Honda reference lol
Honda bolts are a bit like their riders SOFT

yeah i read a US post somewhere and he drilled them but after a few rides he replaces them. I think I'll try some loctite, there is evidence in the threads that it already had some but i will carry a spare bolt or two. _________________ I am old and wise because i survived young and stupid |

There are lots of variations on the market but those look pretty good. Try your local fastener place - not Bunnings or a good diesel mechanic may point you in the right direction. _________________ 660R mine

I have had them come out but now we smack a centre punch at the back of the bolt between the bolt and the carrier and havent had any more dramas and you can still get them undone if needed _________________ What would you know i read it on a forum it must be true ha ha |

Nope where the thread comes through the carrier at the back so you centre punch right in the join of the thread on the bolt and the thread in the carrier. _________________ What would you know i read it on a forum it must be true ha ha |

| carefull with the lock wire,if you go across to each bolt the wire can hit the boot when it travels , give the centre punch from the back a go first. |
