Can't edit poll. The third option should be "I would be interested if they were cheaper."

I work in signage and have a lot of equipment and wholesale cost contacts were I can get a roll of 2mm vinyl protective film (Similar to what is used to protect wood bench tops) along with a roll of extra strength adhesive.

I am going to go around to the bike shop and create some custom clear adhesive decals for most model quads and mx bikes. They will be clear so it will be the same colour as the plastics that show through but it will protect the plastics from scratches and wear. I'll only be making them for the parts of the bike that get the most contact such as the boot rubbing and the front guards.

I've used the material before and it worked really well. I've used it on bikes that have been through the Australasian Safari and held up great! The adhesive sticks to anything, even textured plastics. Such as raised grip patterns etc.

Here's a bike we did which used parts of the same material.

I'd also probably add the option to get a custom print on them for extra. Unsure yet.

Just doing a bit of research as to who'd be interested in this if anyone.

The cost would be roughly $125 for a full kit.

(I'm not selling them yet)

It's definitely a nice bike. Nice price tag in the end too. Over $15,000 spent without the cost of the bike.

When you say you may look at doing custom print, how much extra are we talking?

Yes I'd be interested in getting some for where the back of my boots rub on the rear plastics and fuel tank.

It'd mean I'd have to ad a printable vinyl media between the adhesive and the protective laminate. And I'd have to buy this at price because it's only sold by the roll, which wouldn't be worth it if there wasn't enough request for printed.

Wouldn't be any more than about $40-60 if the artwork was supplied though.

These prices are definitely not set in stone.

Might even just make a couple up see how they go. Sell them in the classifieds section.

Will be making one next week and giving it a trial on my bike. Will post results.

Thanks, it took us ages to do the bike but it came out really well, he also scored a Huskvana sponsorship out of it which is good. He wasn't sponsored at all just running of his personal funds.

I designed all the artwork my self too so there's another option for people that want custom graphics.

I wouldn't put it on my bike, only because the plastics already look like they got in a fight with a chainsaw. Laughing Laughing But on a new or nice looking bike it would be really good.

They would never sit right though, my boots have nearly eaten a hole through the back of my plastics and the sides aren't real flash either.
