| I still dont understand why nobody can match the US prices. The seller in America sell's them at a profit and ships them all the way to Australia and still come in over $100 cheaper and were not talking tyres built in the states so they have to import them as well, is the sales tax in Australia? or are they happy with less profit margin? I mean i brought in 4 rear paddle tires cheaper than my local would sell one and they have to have more price barganing power than me. My two cents........ |

Its all to do with volume. There are more people in four cities in the U.S than we have in our whole country. They have nearly 300 million people compared to our 19 million.
They can sell for less profit margin because they will sell thousands plus they get great deals on freight because of the volume again.
You probably bought when our dollar was high as well.
With 300 million people you could start a business over there selling bags a dirt and still do OK.
You have done well to bring in tyres for $25 each including air freight. I would steer clear of your local or find another one. |

is that dirt from your garden or from down the road, I'll take two, and fossil will need a boot load of it.

If you're gonna scale up the customers then you have to scale up the vendors as well. So that means ya got 20,000 people sellin bags of dirt, more competition means lower prices = bag of dirt 10 cents shipped to your door.
Gotta love capitalism (while it lasts). _________________ The term "Foolproof" seriously underestimates the ingenuity of Fools.
