Sad when this institution of stockton dunes is now not allowed to drive his buggy on stockton beach.Worrimi wantabees have told him he carn't bring his registered buggy on the beach.Pagey would be more about stockton dunes than any current worrimi .It certainly not about traditions anymore its all about the sand royalities. . |

You left off a couple.
Where were these people even 20 years ago before that pesky sand became valuable. |

His buggy has held RVA rego for years... whatever current restrictions may exist... his was correctly registered before they came in.
Just lose the plate and wear a helmet... no ranger/ police vehicle on Stockton Beach would stay with Jeff when he's "on". |

| So what have they changed the RVA area to, ita a recreation vehicle area & beach buggies are recreational. i wish all these people in charge would fall out of bed one day & realise we live in Australia, the land of the free, or so they tell us. Any1 out there with aborigonal blood in them, go ask for a beach like the worimis did you may just get 1 for free them you can sell it off. Has any 1 informed state federal gov that the abo's are selling somthing that the gov could be making money off. |

| There are plenty more changes to come. While these posts were going on yesterday I was doing something about it. If you want changes to favour you/us then things need to be done. Once again, I invite anyone who wants to help to contact me. |

Buggies gone, trikes next, then quads after that.
Even though clearly on the application for Conditional Registration it states 2 or 3 wheeled motorcycle, the NPWS are interpreting the Conditional Registration Guide and as it does not specifically show a trike they are saying trikes are not allowed.
We would like this clarified so as we are not getting hassled in the carpark. |

Geez I hope you blokes down there don't cop what DERM are doing to us up here in the forestry. I've got a perfectly good rappy collecting cobwebs except for the occasional trip to the Manar. _________________ Aspire to Inspire |

I wonder what the hidden agenda is.
Eventually the fun kill police will get their way just like here in SA. |

QLD. If you can follow the paper trail, knock on the right doors, get the written permision from both Police and the Land Managers, be part of a Incorporated body, have the 20 mill PLI, actually help the Land Manager write the code of conduct, riding and the WTSHTF documentation + a few other things. Not a problem.
Absolutely forget "individual recreation", the most popular and traditional form of enjoyment.
In Qld we have two laws regarding motorised use on public land for cond rego. All machines have to have a valid form of registration and all riders/operators have to be licensed. Conditional Rego is a valid form of rego, but very limited. After that, everything else is policy, which is used in the absence of law. I'd suggest some little legal voice has been in the ears of NPWS suggesting that if what if happens, they'll be liable. Can't have that, they aren't insured! All the State bodies exchange info, BTW. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Has somebody from NPWS actually said to you trikes are not allowed?
What is it you would you like clarified?
What happened and who was invloved when you and the others you refer to as "we" got "hassled"?
I want to do my best to make sure things are dealt with fairly and, as you know, I am able to represent users of the RVA in the present process that is going on with NPWS so really clear information would be helpful. |

last weekend I was stoped by park rangers and told trikes will no longer be allowed at stockton beach RVA . After talking to the rangers they presended an rta form which at the top of the page read conditional registration guide. The guide reads as follows
Only non-complying motorcycles and 'quad bike' type all terrain vehicles, such as those illastrated, may be registered for recreation use on stockton beach recreation vehicle area
the illustrations only show a motor cycle and a quad bike
I believe the rangers are misinterpreting these 'GUIDE ' illustrations. As it clearly states on the current RTA application for conditional registation form.
Recreational 2 or 3 wheel motor cycles used on stockton beach
At the end of the day every body that goes to stockton beach is just a thorn in the side of Worimi Conservational lands /nationalparks _________________ go the 300r |

Yes my post was what my Brother in Law was referring to above, (DC300R) I was not with him at that time but he was told that he was going to get a phone call from NPWS and that trikes would no longer be able to be used at Stockton.
We are just hoping this is a wrong interpretation of the Guide.
Ozpilot can you pm me your email address as I can no longer find it. |

Thanks for that. Part of what is happening at the moment with NPWS relates to how the area is run and if anybody was "hassled" I would be raising that with NPWS. I consider an essential part of having a management plan that works for everybody is ensuring all contact between users of the RVA and personel from NPWS is at a professional and courteous level. There are people within NPWS trying very hard to make sure things in the RVA run smoothly and I was very concerned at the suggestion somebody could have been "hassled".
There are also people within NPWS working hard to have things changed in ways that would be advantagous to users of the RVA. If everybody that uses the RVA tried as hard as some of the people within NPWS are trying to get changes the users of the area want I think things would be getting much better much faster.
In relation to trikes, what you are referring to is not a matter of interpretation by NPWS. The document you refer to with the pictures of a bike and a quad is the document the RTA is using to determine what can be registered. Three regos of mine were cancelled by the RTA. I spoke to senior people within NPWS and within the RTA to find out what was happening and the position was that the RTA cancelled the regos because my vehicles did not look like those in the photos you refer to. This was all done within the RTA. When I registered them I went to the RTA to pay the registrations for all three vehicles (which had been first registered in 1995, 1999 and 2003 respectively) there was a specific category for buggies. I was told they were registerable and I paid for the registrations. The RTA contacted me a few weeks later asking for photos of the vehicles. I contacted the RTA and was told by senior people there that if the vehicles do not look like those in the photos on the document you are talking about they are not registerable. All of those steps to cancel my registrations had nothing to do with NPWS.
I have learnt plenty from discussions with the RTA and NPWS since then and my understanding is that the same would apply to trikes.
That's the best I can do to clarify those things for you.
My email is burke@ebc44.com - I am happy to hear from anybody about issues concerning the WCL. And I am especially happy to hear from anybody that has constructive input. |
