 |
|
Hi everybody, have a problem with a trx450 05 model breaking down under load and at this stage have had a number of things done but still the same .
So far the following items have been changed
Carby
Wiring Loom
Fuel Tank
Muffler
Coil
Airbox
Standard cam re-fitted
Has also had stator & cdi tested all ok
Also had a top end rebuild
Bike starts & runs perfect until under load
Hour meter & lanyard have also been disconnected
Any help would be appreciated Thanks Wayne |

Possibly a sensor, like gear position, that is sending a wrong signal to the CDI, causing the rev limiter to come in?
Adjusting, cleaning, changing out and sometimes disconnecting them can fix it..... _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Is the cam timing spot on, it is possible on those motors for the cam to be a tooth out and it will still run perfectly until you load it up.
wen you say that is breaks down under load is it from take off or is it not until further up the rev range? _________________

Hi Pete ,
They have tried it with the original cam still the same , it was doing this prior to the top end rebuild .
It starts to breakdown mid way through the rev range and the higher the gear the lower revs it starts to breakdown .
Thanks Wayne |

| Hey Mate .. might be worth checking all the earth points on the bike, i had a Banshee a long time ago that was doing very similar things to what you have described and it took me ages to work out what it was, turned out it was a bad earth on the kill switch that the previous owner had fitted to the bike |
