Voted honestly.
I had a bad stack on an ATC 250r when I was 15 and I was not wearing a helmet.
I was lucky to be able learn from m my mistake.

A broken wrist and shoulder as well as a heap of cuts and abrasions.

100% safety gear for me now.

I see a lot of young teenage kids riding utility quads without safety gear on fruit blocks here in the Riverland SA.
A lot of the machines are full adult size quads and I think this adds a huge amount of risk to the possibility of an overturn or crash.

yeah I probably should have qualified that further. These days I put a helmet on for anything more than just to move a bike out of the workshop or load it on the trailer and always have worn one for recreational riding.

I answered no, if you don't include riding it from the shed to the trailer. I don't ride it onto the trailer, I just lift it onto my box trailer or roll it onto my enclosed trailer.

I remember a customer riding a quad on ramps onto a ute and the ramps slipped and the quad tipped/rolled. Needless to say he got injured.

Have ridden on the sand (fairly slowly) with no helmet, when offered a ride of a mates bike... but wont have a serious go without one these days....

and did come off a CR450 almost 25 years ago... not wearing a helmet..
typically, was only going about 100 yards, did something silly, IE wound it on, throttle jammed, and it threw me... two fingers and a kneecap later..... but didnt hit my stupid head..

Always ride on the farm bikes with no helmet if I am out hunting or going around the paddocks, also on my 450 too if I am only going down the road to one of the paddocks.
