We have a 2011 raptor 90 and want to change front sprockets to suit the race tracks. the problem is we have been told no one stocks different tooth ones other than the standard 13 tooth sprocket. i am chasing a 12 tooth one and also a 14 tooth one.
If anyone has done this already can you tell me where you got them from and if they were the same as another model , what model was that.
cheers

just keep an eye on top speed with the 14t front, because if the bike is used in the limited class top speed can not be over 48kmph

ok sweet , thanks for the heads up.just thought it was going to run out of revs down the straight, hence why we were going the 14 tooth sprocket.

Actually if you put the 14t front sprocket on it can not be used in the limited class at all as it then becomes modified and has to be in the comp class.

So can someone tell if you change the rims for more off set and shock springs cdi and other small stuff does that mean you cant race the limited class. Does the quad need to be out of the show room to race this class ? what can you do?

By the rules, and I am not saying I agree with them, but nothing can be changed from off the show room floor, as this will cancel out the OEM/Y10 compliance and therefore will be in the comp class.

The 90cc Raptor is not Y10 compliant anyway and therefore in the comp class.

Yip the rules are a little wrong small changes should be ok but i guess the rules are the rules.

So does that mean a 7-10 year old that rides a Raptor 90cc is up against a Apex 90cc ? Is there a 7-10 year mod class or do they have to ride a stock quad cos of there age ?

yep I agree, because in the end these bikes arent safe enough for the kids to race stock, after all its all about safety as welland after watching my daughter on hers in stock form , it was scary.

The Apex is not y10 compliant, neither is the Raptor therefore neither can be ridden by a 7 - 10y/o

True, as you said all you did was make it safer, Not faster but what can you do. So does this mean you have to take the rims and spring out to race at the champs?

Cos man it looks hot on them rims dude, you should put a pic up for the guys to see Shannon

I dont what this Y10 mean.....where can I read about this.

Cos there are kids racing Raptor 90's and Apex's currently. I dont understand. Are you saying a 10 year old is not aloud to race one of these quads?

Y10+ rule is in the MOMS refer rule 22.4.1.5
A 10 y/o can ride both these Quads but only in the Comp class as neither are Y10 compliant therefore not in the limited class.
