Is there anywhere on the Sunshine Coast that rents out quads? I'm keen as hell to try this out and the Landsborough go-kart track isn't doing it for me anymore!
Are there such things as recreational parks where they rent them out? Or do you just find a farmer wanting a bit of cash on the side? |

There are a couple of places in NSW that do quad bike rides/tours. I would punch in "Quad bike riding gold coast" into google and am sure you will find some up there. cheers _________________ Rusty99 |

Hi Trampmiester, do you want to just putter about on the trails or just go for it on a MX or XC circuit?
There is very few joints that actually rent quads out, and I'm fairly certain that the ones that do are a very sanitised affair.
Gold Coast has a mob, ( New Zealand has hundreds ) and a few upmarket farmstays have them, but you've very little in the way of options in the SE Qlds atm.
The QQRA are running the National Titles at Coolum in a few months, with a few training days between now and then, so maybe get onto them there and get some ideas/info. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Ah, that's a shame!
Thing is, I'm pretty new to the whole idea. I'm only recently returned to the Sunshine Coast and I'm looking for more interesting outdoor things to do up here.
I don't know if it's just an urge that once scratched will disappear or if it's something I'll really get into... so I guess a sanitised experience would be ok as a starting point. I'd probably kill myself on a real track at this point anyway!!
I was actually thinking of going to a farmstay soon (my little one-year-old boy LOVES chasing animals around), so I'll keep an eye out for those that offer the quadbike experience.
Good info on the Coolum comp BTW - sounds pretty exciting, I'll definitely make the trip up for that. |

Not quite Sunshine Coast but just over the water... They rent them out at Tangalooma on Moreton Island.
But....
2nd Gear & Not allowed to change up or down so you end up feeling like your about to send the piston shooting up through the tank! Good fun though nonetheless. You get to go into the dunes (follow the leader) and they drop off a log or two... |

If you are planning on living in Queensland, I would suggest that you do not try it. If you like it, you will probably go out and get a Quad and then discover that there is really no where for you to ride, what a bummer!!!!
You would be better off taking up horse riding or lawn bowls, apparently there is not much fun to be had, therefore it is allowed! _________________ Its not if you win or lose but how you enjoyed the ride! |

Funny little joint called New Zealand offers quad bike riding in about every town big enough to have a post office.......
And we are busy getting Post Offices closed
And I'm almost certain that anything that looks like it might be fun, is likely to be banned, have a BS media articles written/shown about it, or severely taxed........
Bloody watermelon party are in for a VERY HARD time if they knock on my door about voting for them! _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Bit north of the sunny coast but a mate of mine is starting quad tours up here at Agnes Water. I see he has a sign up and know he has been sifting through all the red tape with council etc so think he is getting close now. If anyone would like further info let me know. As far as I know there is no tag along at this stage so you don't need your own quad. _________________ "Happiness is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it but only you can feel it"
