There is this place in the riverland http://www.loveday4x4adventures.com/

I have been there a few times in my 4x4 camping with the family and I have seen buggies but you are not allowed to take bikes because of insurance.
But if the club has it's own insurance he might be open to suggestions.

Maybe some body could try and negotiate something.

There are some great tracks with some really good technical stuff. It would be a fun place for an enduro.[/url]

Last time I spoke to the owner (about 2 months ago) he was looking into getting 2 wheel bikes in to do an enduro but was only going to do it if the big brand teams/sponsers were going to enter to generate the money and people. If this went ahead bikes and possibly quads would have their own dedicated enduro track built. He has no interest in mixing bikes and 4x4's on the same track and yes that includes at different times.
This place needs about $5000 for a weekend to cover costs for the club to hire it out over 4x4 use solely for quads. Apparently thats how much the 4x4's raise on an average weekend.
When I spoke to the owner he was really forthcoming with this information and was a really nice guy and open to new things .... but yes the "money" had to be there. Lets hope the enduro's get off the ground to fund the new bike track in the near future.

At $5000/weekend it will never work for us.

They must get some 4x4 traffic through there to have that amount of takeings at the gate.
If the enduro track gets built then by the sounds of what he said it would be just like a Port Gawler but with camping facilities. So aslong as there were no comps on you can just go in, pay your dues and ride for the day on the bike only track. This track would obviously come at a different rate for a club weekend booking but probably a financial challenge for anything other than a large turn out.

Who's place isn't available for $5k a weekend ?
Maybe he'll do a special rate for the whole year of $200,000 eek
(or maybe he will need to stick to the full 260k)

I would tell him that from smaller events big events happen look at thumb pump for example.
He would get more people wanting to take out their atv or dirt bike more often during the off holiday season than the 4x4s coming up here a few times a year.
If that was my business I would be putting in tracks to accommodate bikes for sure.

My words exactly couldnt of said it better ive spoken to him bout this place seems his price has gone up more theres know way ide even think of holding a event out there for that price im gonna pop out there one day an see what kinda field you get with 4x4 most of the buggy tracks dont even charge that much. Not saying the place is "profanity removed" or nothing but we would only want to use the dirt out the back we dont need no bar or canteen. Any way i found a new place for our club an it only cost $20 per rider for the day. An it has a 4x4 track over some nice sandunes an a seperate area for camping an a seperate place for bikes quads to ride on 2 1/2 thousand acres on its own the 4x4 has the near enough the same amount of land to play on so thanks but no thanks from me for the this year anyway to pricey for our us.

I have mentioned quads to Tony a few times even when he was organizing a sand drag meet for cars and suggested a quad class but I think his insurance was to much. He charges around $60 a car for the first day so I guess we would need to pay the same.

On another note he is opening a new park just out of Dublin up pt Wakefield rd. Could be interesting.

The guy just has to look at how many people go up to pt Gawler on the weekends I have seen 70+ bikes up there on long week ends.

Riding with the club sounds great but what if you just want to take the kids out for a few hours on the week end? Here in SA you are pretty limited for places to legally ride.

I have a few spots around Renmark and Morgan that we can go but no rec rego in SA makes it hard.
I would love it if I could take my quad up to beach port and ride the dunes like I can on my old IT490.

Cheers boycee is true true that we need a 100 or so riders for an enduro. Or can we go up there any time to stay the weekend an ride the track. Is that price for each rider as well as kids to. or is there a family price. Or kids under a sertain age ride free.

This is a one off at this stage mate, but if all goes well we might be able to get something a little more regular and he has told me there is a chance of an enduro if all goes well.

Guys and girls get your applications in if you are keen he needs 100 b4 he even thinks about it.
