hey everyone my 08 ltr 450 seems a little down on power, i had the valves adjusted the other week, the mechanics said that my valves where out and they replaced the shims. at that point the bike was a little hard to start but now it kicks over like new. however i have had the yoshimmura pim computer installed since it being done it seems to have lost power, the bike has done 78 hours. it hasnt done any racing but i do ride aggresivly and use the motor as hard as i can. getting it on the dyno seems the obvious choice but im curious if ppl reckon i should just do a complete tear down on the engine and rebuild it with high comp piston and cams etc.... whats your thoughts? ive been told that you should rebuild every 100 hours??
need some advice as im gonna start racing next year

Well at a guess, because my bike didn't have an hour meter on it when I bought it that engine could have done anything over 100-200 hours. 2nd rebuild was 40 hours after that and was a pretty much a full build and this one now is 12 hours. Crying or Very sad

100 hours is not unreasonable to expect out of an LTR but if you are going to really ride it hard then maybe sooner than that. say a piston every 30 hours and a crank or rod kit and bearings every 100
