That seller has no transaction history.
I would be very wary.

would be no worries as long as there is no deposit needed, and when they email for a urgent deposit for what ever reason say NO, because thats where they'll get ya. _________________ 2005 KFX700

That link is for Hilview importers not hillview imports ,, can be a big difference.
I would suggest that if anyone is contemplating a purchase , to just call the number and speak to the guy ,, , i think the guy is breaching ebay condtions as he has not got the quads in stock , they are purchased and then freighted once payment is made.
I have made some enquiries please tread carefully _________________ 2012 Can am Outlander Xt 1000cc

I spoke this guy today and I am still not convinced that this is legitimate.
He wants the full payment up front before u get anything.
I am unsure where he is ordering the bikes from, but I do know they are atleast destined for the U.S as the speedos are calibrated to MPH. But the Grizzlies from 2010 onwards are now assembled and the chassis are manufactured in the U.S.
I have sent Hillview Imports some hard questions that will sort out whether this is a scam or not.
I hope this is ligitimate as I was just about to purchase a brand new Grizzly 700 in the next 2 weeks from a dealership.
Will keep this thread updated when I hear back from him. _________________ Registered Orgasm Donor |

if this bloke wants your $$$ then he'll wait till one gets on the shore before you hand the $$$ over, BUT buy from a dealer, might be a bit more but there will be no warrenty hassles and if you have cash hit the dealer hard, they will cave in sooner later, good luck. _________________ 2005 KFX700

Yogie is spot on. These, if he is legit, are "grey" imports. That means that you do not get a warranty. This has been happening with the pwc industry for a while now.
On the flip side, the pwc industry was forced to reduce their prices to more realistic ones to match the flood of grey imports. |

Spoke to the importer again. He answered my questions and doesnt want any money from me until the bike arrives. Even then, if the bike is not what i wanted, I simply wont buy it.
I understand the warranty issues, but the money saved would cover an entire engine rebuild.
I have a feeling the bike shops arent really selling massive amounts of bikes, and ATV's are the last thing on their minds, but they wont come any where near $8k.
I will keep snooping around for the next 3 weeks anyway. _________________ Registered Orgasm Donor |

Ok , the guy is stating he is from Gympie , and that he does not work due to a car accident, and that this line of work , ie selling motorbikes is his only source of income.
I would not pay one cent personally myself until i could see the quad, the guy is selling something that he has not already secured possession off, and i think that is in breach of ebay terms, he also stated to me that the quads are not even in the country as yet and there has been a delay in the shipment , they are definately grey imports , if you are oging to proceed with a purchase make sure you have all his bona fides , and even make a call to his mobile number , and do it while blocking your number , ring a few times and ask the same questions , just to see if you get the same answer , also ask him for his abn number or his registered business name and not his ebay name _________________ 2012 Can am Outlander Xt 1000cc

The MSRP in the USA is $9,499US.
Even if you bought one from a dealer in the US yourself a bit cheaper, there is now way you could land it here paying ijnsurance, freight, wharf taxes GST etc etc for the price he is advertising them for.
Shipping time 2 weeks? All the jetskis etc I bought over were more like 3-4 weeks, never 2 weeks
I think be WARY....very WARY _________________ Team Ironpot 701 Just Doin It

I had the barrell and piston and rings replaced on my 09 grizzly 700 under warranty and the barrell alone was over a grand on its own,,it can take up to 6 weeks for shipment from the USA.
Be wary is all i can say , and take every precaution that you can possibly think off, and i hope you gain yourself a good machine _________________ 2012 Can am Outlander Xt 1000cc

I don't know how he can sell them for $8k when in the US they are over $9k. As far as I can see, I have nothing to loose if I am not handing over any money what so ever until I see the bike.
He did say that they wont be here for another 3 weeks.
I have asked for an invoice with the bike VIN and Engine number.
I would prefer to pay more and buy one from a shop, locally. But $5k is $5k boys..... _________________ Registered Orgasm Donor |

Hi all,
I only registered to give you lot an update on this.
I spoke with the bloke who was running this business and I had his first load bikes sold before they hit the shore, I did not and would not take deposits until I saw the bikes/quads in person.
I was going to earn commission on each bike but I was very wary of taking anyone's cash prior to see them in the flesh.
It sounded to good to be true, the bloke(can't remember his name and I have deleted all of emails) was a genuine fella with good intentions, however he went into the deal with his eyes closed.
He fell for a scam run on Alibaba, he paid for the goods up front, near on $200k he handed over.
Unfortunately he lost the lot and I suspect it was his payout for a compo claim and he was looking to make it his full time source of income.
So the short of it is, he lost everything he has and I assume is now dependant on welfare.
Cheers |

Well old matey didn't do his homework real well...Alibaba has forums on its own website where it details the 1000's of scams that happen. They can't control what is and isn't genuine _________________ Team Ironpot 701 Just Doin It
