Met up with Mike_6r4 for the 1st time on sunday & a few of my other riding mates for a ride up in the hills. firstly the weather man lies!!! (not the 1st time) got out to the location & now i think about it i should of just stayed in the car. This ride has now gone down as the wettest ride ive ever done so PeteW, buzzbro & priesty that ride we did has now taken 2nd spot....it was WET!!!! . You know your in for an interesting day when the flat trails have little streams running on them, hills had more of a water fountain thing going on. Not sure how many kms we did but did some decent tracks with a bit of everything. I felt bad for mike as he wasnt used to the conditions & with his bike setup the way it was made a very challenging ride for him....all in all not a bad day but i have decided i am over riding in rain, we were lucky it wasnt that cold......Mrs B took the camera to the footy & once her team started to lose she put it back in her handbag without turning it off so with a flat battery no pix...sorry.

Was great to meet up with Josh and the other guys. We all looked at the weather and it looked fine. Unfortunately the rain blew in a day early. I woke up at 06:30 and it was pouring, driving to meet Josh then onto the ride spot I was just thinking I don't want to do this! We kitted up and set out with the rain pouring down. Goggles soon became useless as they were all steaming up. I was fine on the wider trails and gravel tracks and in all honestly could have hung it out a lot more, the trouble is I just had no idea where we were going! The trouble is a YFZ450 just isn't the tool for knee deep mud, deep 4x4 ruts and very tight slow trails. I was scared to death my battery was going to die the amount of times we had to stop etc and my clutch was getting the beating of it's life. I now know what the Raptor 700 was made for!

Day ended badly when some t**t smashed into the back of me on the way home. My car and trailer were wrecked, it snapped the tow bar off my car! Not sure on the damage to the quad yet as it's on it's way to where the car will be assessed. Now need an ATV specialist to assess my YFZ for damage, any ideas anyone?

Mike

Jesus mate I think a snow mobile would have been more useful down that track! Think I'll give a Yogie ride a miss until the summer then!

Cheers Barney, Josh suggested quad squad, I'll give them a call tomorrow.
