anyone had there ds with no gears at all? clutch feels ok @ the leaver. move the gear leaver up and down and nothing is heard/fealt. seems the drum isnt turning inside, no shift forks moving? Will be pulling it down anyway just thought someone may have had this before?  |

its all sorted just the front sprocket came off the shaft, clip is gone awall. think i will make up a sleve to go over the shaft and bolt it on as the output shaft in the engine is threaded. wont have to worry about this again....  |

I have seen a race part 'bolt style retainer' and wondered if a circlip could ever jump off, so why bother.

I'd be hoping the bolt style can be used 'as well as' rather than 'instead of' the circlip.
Use both.
I would have a good look at your swing arm and axle carrier bearings for play too.
The front sprocket should have little or zero side loading if everything is running true and correct.
Otherwise, I supose it's nice to find out that your gearbox problem is a 20c circlip. _________________ Can-Am X Team

yea it put a smile on my face when i worked out what the problem was. i have a washer and bolt holding the sprocket on now similar to the bcs system  |
