My gearbox on my ds 450 let go on sunday wondering if anyone had one go before bike has done about 70 hours thought it might last a bit longer then that Rolls eyes

You can buy billett gears from the USA to replace them

I would have to agree, I would have thought it would last longer than that too. They are built like a tractor inside. It will be interesting to find out what caused it to let go and what the actual problem is. Keep us posted.

pending on what type of hours is on it, i noticed with one of my DS when it was stripped down that one of the gears was a bit worn, at around 30hrs, like anything pending on service history, maintence and the type of riding it has done. atleast it is alot better than some other quads i have heard of.

It's done Finke twice and a full race season and a few other enduros, gets serviced every 5 hours

ditto two different canams replaced 3rd gear in each approx same hours

Smittys DS ones were similar with those sort of hour too. No worse than some of the other brands with a season of MX on them.....we had an LTR let go with less than 10 hours on it.

Could be worse at 70 hours you might have had to put a couple of pistons and a crank if it was another brand.......
