Well done fella. The 400 EX is one of the best trail quads ever made, and with a few mods they go great.

Have fun and stay safe.

First of all.

Nerf Bars if it doesnt have them already.

Then I would look at tyres (stock ones are generally rubbish)

Then you are only limited by your imagination and budget. It all depends how you want to use the machine.

Ride it for a while and get comfortable then change things as you feel you need to to become quicker/get more comfortable.

For me, after nurf bars, good tyres and better handle bars, the 400EX needs a wider rear end which can be easily done with wheel spacers, then a steering damper.

And if it has been sitting for a while give it some fresh oil, clean air filter, grease and check for anything loose.

Enjoy and welcome aboard.

i think its more that people aren't always that keen on heading out with someone they dont know cause they dont know how they ride, what there attitude is like etc. might be worth heading to ATVWA on July 3 for there Pony Express and meet some people (or any of the other clubs around the place). that way people get to see who you are and what you're about and can put a face to the forum name

im already a member of atvwa
What you have to show your face to join a ride ( dont know what world that is your in but ive been part of jetski clubs etc and we use to encourage anyone to come down and we would educate them in a few ground rules b4 taking to the water.

sounds like a purple circle maybe

i joined or donated my money to the atvwa for growing the club because i was told they were into family riding aswell and if you a proposing to any1 with a quad which needs exceptance to ride/attitde your sport wont grow bud i can assure you of THAT

it helps if people have met you before they will invite you randomly on a weekend ride. if your a member of atvwa than i probably have seen you round, just dont know which face to put to the forum name. everyone is encouraged to come down to the club for events and be a member. ill be there on the next pony day so come over and say hello.

ive gone on random rides with people before and have not enjoyed it as they think that they are the best rider out and won't listen to any advice. not saying this is you but i am careful nowadays.
