They are crap.
I would bide my time and wait for a bike to come up and you will find bargains from time to time keep an eye out on ebay.
I have seen a super clean banshee go for $3000 before.
Buy it once and enjoy it. The Chinese rubbish will eventually become a broken ordainment in your shed.
Most of the people that buy them and say they are good simply have to much pride to admit they screwed up and threw their money away on one.

I presume you are buying a CHINESE 300cc quad, not Japanese?

Four thousand dollars would buy you a good second hand Honda or Yammy. something like a 350 Raptor or 400ex.... if you are prepared to look....

Banshee's are not my cup of tea..... and if your partner is riding with you, and you cant wring its neck every second you are on it, they wont be your choice either.

Get your other half a Japanese ag quad, it will do everything better than any Chinese 150, and do it for longer, and it has racks, so they can be the pack horse, and bring the refreshments... Smile

You can get generic Japanese quads with the latest Subaru engine laughing
The banshee was only an example on what you can find.
I wouldn't underestimate the girls either your partner will be sick of a 150cc very quickly.
My 15 yo daughter on her 2nd outing riding was riding my raptor 700.

parts will become an issue real quick on a chinese quad. As soon as they update their model they can no longer supply parts for the older one.

a quote from the VQTRA forum

For anybody thinking about getting into quad riding or getting the kids a cheap pit bike from a Chinese brand.I have a 300cc quad from atomik motorsports that is 18 mths old and is useless because they say they dont import them anymore so they dont have any parts.I dont know about other brands but dont go to atomik motorsports, they do not back up the products that they sell. Evil or Very Mad

Agree with all current comments, i'm in the Mechanical game & the recent cheap tool imports in the last few years should be warning enough. Unfortunately the overall quality & mid to long term committment isnt there with cheap imports. Use it once & it breaks, you only get what you pay for is still a good old adage.
I think your better of saving up for a second hand Jap quad, at least you can buy parts & get lots of advice.

Troy if you scroll thru general chit chat you will find alot of discussion on Chinese quads ,Japanese quads ect.

rule number 1 stay with known brands polaris,Honda, yamaha Can am and Kwacka.

so you are able to get parts, nothing is worse than having a broken bike and getting the run around ie: dont make that model, nothing in stock and waiting for container to arrive

$6000.00 will get you on a very nice Honda for you and one for your partner. A bit older bike but still look and run great

The last thing you want is your partners bike breaking down when you go riding ,all they want to do is get on and ride and have no issues

the more issues the less they want to go riding and pretty soon your bike joins hers parked up. Resale = you pay $4000.00 and you will sell for $1000 to $1500.00 .

Take a look at bikes available in your price range and i think you will easily find something that is good quality and a good price. The chinese market is aimed at people wanting to get into quads for the first time and are not sure of what to do. You made the effort to Join OzAtv forum so now you know the answer. Good Luck

I bought a 400cc 04' Suzuki Ltz for 4k local and it's an awesome quad with heaps of go and a few mods (suspension ...elkas. and Hotcams)

It's is still in awesome condition and i havn't spent a cent on repairs (not including tyres and services) which all bikes need.

For the same price, i would not even consider a chinese quad.

If i want parts for the suzuki i just call them or buy in the parts from the states...

If you go chinese. There is a high chance it will brake which = you getting pissed off and ditching the sport.
