hey guys
I got some protaper contuer bars for my ltr,didnt know what bend to get so i just said medium atv.. They didnt have medium so the shop just ordered high,as protaper said there the populer ones 4 atvs.
I tried fitting em and there about 3/4 of an inch higher then the standard ones,then add the 14mm for the bar clamps..they are 2 high for the brake cables 2 reach.
Dont know if the shop will take em back as there now got marks from the bar clamps.
So just wanted to know whats a good bend to get in protapers?
thanks lez _________________ Sold -06 ltr450

My ProTapers are Pastrana bend (which i've paired with 1" fat clamps and a +1" anti-vibe steering stem) and i'm really happy with them.
Although i had Renthal "Mini Racer" on my blaster and i think they were better, but it just comes down to trying different things until you find whats right for you.
Some general rules i have picked up are;
1) Try to match the bar width to suit your shoulder width (cut them down if necessary).
2) The more open the bar sweep, the less stress on your wrists.
3) Getting the height right (even if it means getting longer cables) can reduce lower back pain and improve your manouverability while riding. _________________ (PeteW's missus)

My favorite ones are the Pro Taper Pastrana FMX/ATV Racing bend too. good feel and help with your riding pos too.
Smitty's LTR's have Renthal Jimmy Button's on them and are pretty comfortable. bit of a flatter sweep than the pro taper bends that are that high.
Try and get a ride on quads with different bends of bars as a comparison rather than just guessing though. _________________
