The TRX450R was dropped off last week from Melbourne, and today (Saturday) i took it for a belt around my mates property. Even though the majority of land was at 45 deg. or somewhat with heaps of rocks and dead trees laying around i got my chance to have a go. Jeeeeeeeez what a machine, did a couple of donuts (manditory) a few small jumps ( i think the crickets were jumping higher. Oh and Dave i didn't fall off this time. Anyway just to let you know that i had a blast and can't wait for Peake next week.
see you there. |

gday tuffer. mate i 2 love the trx450r. one thing u might want to consider is jetting the carb then putting another pipe on, i found u need to do a few things to the trx 2 get them 2 wake up, when they do hold on
Ive done some stuff here & there & havnt tested it all out together but when i get back from my next ride this weekend coming , if u like ill post u my opinion of how it went but the jetting & opening the pipe is a good start _________________ 04 TRX 450r

Hey Dave how was speed way?
Kick start not to bad only takes you by surprise when it recoils, i'll get used to it. Found out i have to put something inbetween the trailer wall and front rims of the bike since the rim was scuffed through transport. Wasn't too bad loading the bike onto the trailer by myself without ramps, but the car had to be facing down hill. I think i'll invest in ramps, the poor back won't be able to take it.
Catch up for a ride soon. |

Hey your problem with recoil maybe with throttle when starting. Dont give it any throttle when kicking over. Just give a couple of pumps before you kick when its cold and it should fire straight up. When its hot you should be able to even kick it sitting down. They really are an eaasy starter when u get the hang off it. Catch ya at peake good to see another honda in the club!
ps befoore anyone comments as to why im on at 2am its cos i just got home from a whirlwind trip to brisbane and sydney driving! |

| Thanks for the tip froggyboy, i figured it out by the end of the day since my right ankle sat behind my right ear due to the recoil. Catch up with all of you at Peake. |

Use choke when its cold......blip the throttle, then kick - No throttle and she'll start.
When its hot always use the hot start; again, No throttle.
With the comp that things running if it kicks back too hard it will smash the case out. If you treat it right it will last forever.
Use the best fresh petrol you can get. Change the oil often with something good, I always used MOTUL 300v C, 15w50. Change the oil filter every time; dont use washable oil filters. |
