hey guys i have a yfz450r 09, im looking at getting some new front rims, i was just wondering what off set too look for the 4x1 or the 3x2, i think 3x2 are stock offset, but i have read the 4x1 actually makes the bike a lot nicer to ride less fatigue etc ??? any thoughts, the 4x1 would prob end up making the back wider then the front if i went that way, which you wouldnt wanna do to, cheers guys.

I would still go the 4+1's.
You will notice it.
Ring Andy at Austraco about the DWT Rockouts, they are actually slightly slimmer than the ITP's.

Most stock front rims are 4+1.5, but i'm not exactly sure what the Yami R model is.
Where i have tried swapping from 4 +1.5 to 4+1 on the same bike in a back to back test with the same tyres.
The 4+1 steering felt cleaner and smoother.
Measuring that rim swap exactly the difference was 8mm each side (not the 0.5 inch you might be expecting).
The quad did actually measure up 16mm narrower across the front, but did not feel any tippier, and the steering felt better, and the overall effect was that it was slightly noticably easier to control. _________________ Can-Am X Team

| hey guys, just after people's inputs and feed back into what rims to get in a week or two, I’m looking for front and rear, these will be my enduro and this year’s finke rims, choices are dwt rock out front and rear bead locks or omf bead locks, i know the dwt are used highly in the usa so one would think they live up to what they are, and i think they are a lot lighter than the omf's, my mate matty holtham has the omf's and i know he’s had a couple hard get offs and they have come out looking 100% better than him ( lol sorry mate), he’s omf's come both front and rear reinforced inner rings were as the dwt i don’t think do, anyway there both priced about the same so any feedback would be much appreciated, cheers. |
