Firstly it will depend on where in the US they are. If not near a major shipping port then inland freight fees will apply

They would need to be packed in a metal crate (not wood otherwise you have fumigation expenses) to ensure they aren't damaged....if the supplier didn't do this then it could be arranged once it arrived at the freight forwarder at the wharf but it would be more expensive. The smaller the overall package, the cheaper it will be to get here. A tip would be to get the handlebars removed, all shocks removed and let the air out of the tyres...this would make it smaller than standard.

The original title for the bike is needed in the US...if not then expect US Customs to come and rape your wallet.

They would need to be spotlessly clean, cause if they aren't then Quarantine on this end will rape your wallet silly.

The actual freight component will depend on the size of the package shipped but it won't be a real lot. Its all the other charges on the way that add up big time.

I would expect it should cost anywhere from $2-5k incl inland shipping, recrating, insurance, all US charges, ocean freight, all Aust charges EXCL GST. Thats just a fairly informed guess...hard to know until you know all factors involved

Yeah nixon has brought a quad from the states before, and i'm not certain but i think todd may have too. So i'm sure they're aware of the costs/logistics involved.

You guys are outa hand on the import cost thing .... The main thing is getting it trucked to an importer in the U.S... coz YES this is expensive, but do note that not all importers are on the coast!!! but most are .. gotta do your homework... start with "just cars" magazine and the like because this is were they advertise... and i sure as hell wouldnt remove shocks etc. maybe loosen handle bars at most... it isnt that much of an exact charge that you have to shave every inch possible, hence why most places have a fixed price for cars, bikes etc. which all vairy in size a little,.. basically a quad may take up a good space above somthing else for example that might otherwise be wasted in the container. You dont need a metal crate but if you ask alot of shops will do this for free or about $50 to $100 .. most importers will fix everything in the container with wood to stop it moving around so no matter what, there is wood in the container!!. most importers also have their own quarantine area and will wash it down too if it is a little dirty (this may come as extra charge if it is a big job) most import companies charge between $1000 to $2000 to import a quad. It is $50 to apply for permit to import a motor vehicle from Camberra, this takes 15 working days and most companies will not ship it until you have import approval and you need to pay GST on the cost of the quad. I dont think you need to pay import duty on an "OFF ROAD" vehicle, (this is a specific clasification in your permit to import).
So it is very cost effective if you can get a quad near an importer or find an importer near your quad.
This is first hand info as my quad is on the water on its way here as i type this,.. main thing is do your home work, dont just listen to second hand information,... all the best & hope this is of some help.
Cheers

Bikes would cost $1600 each to land in Australia
Makes for a cheap race bike.
