Just wanting an opinion from those of you who have run paddles.
Are they a great improvement over nobbies in the sand or not???

On nobbies all I do is wheelspin even at 2psi, Which is lots of fun everywhere except for the long steep climbs.
I run 22-11-10 itp sand stars, I have a love hate for them.
Pros. Climbs anything, Traction like your on dirt, Huge roost 
Cons. Cant slide as well/throw the quad around, Get chopped up if you have to ride on gravel/hard pack dirt. Creates understeer, Can't sidehill because of too much traction. (takes the fun out at times)
I run paddles because my quad is so heavy and needs it to climb the big stuff, However the best sand tyre other than paddles is the Dunlop kt335.
All the boys on 450's run these and they climb everything.

| I have never been a fan of paddles, I have tried numerous different types though.I rekon the kenda gecko would have to be the best all round paddle even though they do get bagged out by a few people...there cheap and slide well and hook up ok up hill climbs.A good set of nobbies is just as good as paddles they dont get as much hook up,up hillclimbs but there alot more fun on the sand for sliding/roosting and dont put much load on the motor |

I doubt it ... but there may be a chance my quad has landed before the enduro... if so I'll be keen.. it has RAZR'S on it at the moment.

i run 25-11-10 ten paddle strait cuts buffed its like riding on the road but 4get about cornering sharp it dosnt happen

| Dunlop kt335, climb any hill, corner and slide well on the sand. Just keep them off the gravel, they are a pretty soft compound |

own a yfz450 08 run a set of Dunlop kt335 at 3psi go anywhere but for the straight up hills you cant go past a paddle called The TRACKER made by Kenda they slide well also,thats my choice of rubber,where the dunlop kt335 stop The TRACKER takes over.

i run razor 2's on the bike normaly and run Kenda Gecko paddles in the dunes, they both feel very similar but you don't get the take off bog down running paddles and they roost heaps better  , if you have the paddles set up correctly there awesome, if you have them staggered they will be "profanity removed". there also good for jumping.

I just got a set of the Dunlop KT335's 20'' for my LTR 450, running at 3psi in the rears, cant fault them on sand.
Climbing big dunes is effortless now, awesome traction.
Plenty of the guys up at Stockton run these rears over paddles and love them, many have had various paddles but always go back to the KT335. |

| I lvoe paddles just for something different. Find that the rears that have different shaped 'scoops' or 'paddles', if you will... Handle differently to others regarding back end sideways action but they do twitch a lot to go straight again. just something to get used to. Make sure you line up the blades to keep an even pull on your gear box. |

| Depends on the time of the year . Only really need paddles in the middle of summer with the super soft sand that has no moisture in it .During winter the sand get more rain and holds moisture well so it packs down to form a hard layer , MX tyres will be fine on this . If you are after the optimum straight line speed out of your quad then run paddles . |
