I've just purchased a new ECU for the King Quad and was wondering if anybody else had used the ECU.

They're also made for Grizzly's, Kawasakis, Can Ams and Arctic Cats.

I'll have it installed for the Easter rides so it'll be interesting to compare with the stock Suzuki RCU.

Haven't used one personally but I know a lot of guy's in the US were complaining that were not reliable and were going out for no reason(on kawies) but some had no probs at all.......if and when they are working they are supposed to be one of the best......hopefully the bugs are sorted.

I've just completed istallation of the new VDI Copperhead ECU and the transformation of the quad from the minute I turned it on was really amazing.

Now I've been riding quads for a lot of years and I'm not exagerating that I was truly surprised with the result.

The machine from the get go started straight away, idled better and sounded better.

I only tested it in my driveway but I've been up and down that bit of concrete hundreds of times and the second I got stuck into the throttle the front wheels were in the air and it was hang on to your hat. It woudn't do anything like that with the old ECU.

I know it's only a driveway test, but you get to know the charateristics of your quad after a while and it's a completely different animal now. I can't wait to get it to the beach at Easter to give it a real session.

The only thing I've altered from stock is to put a high flow filter in and I had VDI map it for 98 octane fuel.

I did a couple of pics of the installation but Photobucket is down at the moment so I can't download them.

I'll do an other report after the easter break.

Sounds good, I know the Dynatek makes a big diff on the Kawies just make sure you keep the stock cdi close by incase it takes a crap.

Attached is a pic of the final installation of the new VDI ECU. Yhe old ECU is stiing beside on the lower right. The whole thing is a lot bigger than the original. I also have a controller and relay for my heated hand grips and another relay for the LED driving lights so there is not a lot of room left in the electrical bay for anything else.

I think he means me as the owner of the King Quad.....TonyB is just being sarcastic....He needs to unscrew the throttle stopper on his King Quad and get on the beach this weekend and stop being such a pussy.

I had the quad out for the weekend and did about 200 klm's on the sand and I was very impressed by the results with the Copperhead ECU. The throttle response and performance gains were impressive to say the least on sand that had been cut up by 4wd's, dune buggies, two wheelers and other quads etc.

The King Quad purred up the steepest dunes in 2wd but I wasn't game to go flat out on the beach because it was just to rough and soft in places.

All was going really well until I turned the quad into a submarine out in the back dunes and went up to the seat in water and filled up the CVT with brackish water and gunk.

Anyway, thats all been fixed now and no real damage was done and there was no real expense except for a bit of time taking the CVT cover off and giving it a good clean out.

I can't wait to get out and give it abother go in better conditions.
