Hey Guys,
Thought this might be a good thread to start!!
And as you may have guessed it's to start letting other guys in the Gladstone/Rockhampton/Blackwater regions know about social rides coming up! And getting some groups together so we can share our favourite spots and have a few different people tagging along on the trips!
Who knows if a few of us own GoPro HD head cams we could end up with a heap of footage that can be put into a bit of a DVD jus to show
our non quadriding mates what they are missing out on! Haha
So let's make CQ riding more social and get out there and have some fun!!

Mosko we have a few options as far as ride spots go down here around Agnes and the Boyne Valley.......let me know if you and any mates are keen and we will organize something.

Yeah mate I'm sure you guys would have some awesomenrides down that way and I'm keen to head down! Only problem is I'm busy right up until Easter weekend with this fourby comp I'm doing in mackay....
There is a mx/enduro day just past rocky this Sunday if you guys are interested? It's only $25 to enter and there's camping sat night!

In the same boat as you......busy till Easter and then will be heading down to Kingaroy for the Iron Pot Quad ride.

Yeah mate i was keen to head down for it aswell, but have been pre-booked..
Just Doing It, has been helping me out with hints and information for Finke and told me about that weekend, should be good fun!

Just an idea for next year guys (yes I realise it's ages away haha)
but was thinking if some of you guys are also keen to compete we could possibly organise trips to some larger events!! Like maybe Finke, TP300, Gascoyne Dash, or the team ironpot trail rode weekend!
If we put it in motion and even hired an Avis enclosed truck to get both quads and camping gear to whichever event we chose it could workout alot cheaper for us!
And I wouldn't mind driving to wherever the event is if some wanted to fly! Or even travel in convoy!
Is just a thought I had so decided to see what you guys think?

How did the ride Go today mate? Following the powerline track is nice and fast hey! Only problem is it isn't a very long run haha, did you do any of the hill climbs?

Haha yeah was awesome!!! There is some great fast jumps and some hectic hill climbs!! Had a blast till my day was cut short, I was rounding up some clowns on 2 wheelers and copped a rock and busted my radiator  but yeah I'll pull it out tomorrow after work and have a good look at it, I think I may be able to just pinch off the core thats busted. I'm keen as heck to get back down there and have a look at that red rover road track as well!!

Yeah that flat section right beside the road is good fun! Is also a few tracks that follow the river bank that have some nice fast bits! You will also have to check out devils elbow! It's out Beecher, and is a pretty big area with a few different loops

Yeah sounds good to me! ill just have to check the tide times to make sure we can do the full loop,

Guy's dirt drags at Sarina showgrounds is on 2-3 of july 2011. They have classes for quads, stock and modified bikes welcome. Check it out in the events section. Be good if we could get a good showing of quads up there for these drags.

And has anyone been riding lately? I hopefully will ge my new tyres, sprockets and steering stabilizer at the end of this week, so hopefully will get to do one ride before I had of to Finke in a fortnight haha

Iv been out riding every Sunday for the last few weeks, Been giving the forresty at byfield a fair hiding and went to alligator creek Sunday just gone and rode loops around there for a few hours!! Need to organize a ride soon mate as I wanna pick your brain about finke!!! I'm hell keen to do it next year. Iv wanted to catch up with Josh and dan for another chat on the weekend but was working. Did you get out to Dauringa for the comp on the weekend?? Got invited to go wheeling out there in the next few weekends so keen for that too!!!!

Yeah mate Danny and giggled where out the comp hassling me haha, and we ended up getting 3rd so over the moon with that!
The main gorge is awesom! Would be really really good cruising up the whole thing as there is some big ass boulders in there!
And I might go for a ride this Friday if I've got the new stuff on the quad in time, but will probably only be a little ride...

Depending if my quad is back from Aliceover the next few weeks I'm keen to do a fair chunk of riding as it looks like I won't have a heap of work because there isn't any spare accomodation in Blackwater ATM...
So might do an island trip or go out Bulburim and ride the fast free flowing forest plantation tracks

Congrats on finishing finke in 1 piece mate!! Speaking to one of my mates Beno the other day and he said it was awesome!! Can't wait to have a crack at it next year. And yeah when you know when your doing an island trip or going for a ride cause I'm always keen haha. Went on a great ride yesterday up at byfield, 4 motos and 2 quads, was a bit wet but still an awesome ride!!

Has any one been doing any riding around CQ lately??? Iv only been a few times in the last few weeks, changing jobs and travelling between here and Newcastle a bit, but routine should be back to normal in the next week or so!! I got myself a 2010 yfz450r last weekend and hell keen to get out and ride it!!!
