I think you two (Roycroft & Len) need to put on a set of gloves and slug it out.... Razz Razz Razz

I think you both need to stop bagging out each others product cause it's very unprofessional on any level. The fact is they both will have their pros and cons and it will be up to an individual rider to asses and decide for themselves which it is that suits them.

As for me well i've ridden on a set of Peps (thanks to Hook) and thought "Yea they are pretty awesome" but i'm sure if i rode on a set of Fox floats i would say the same thing. The truth is you don't really need either of them!!!

Just my 2 cents

Mick, serious questions, Lenny is not the only person I have heard mention the dive in corners with fox shocks and nobody on here seems to be denying or defending that statement. Why are the pro's running springs in their shocks? Is this not an issue in Oz because we don't have the same elite level of riders who can push their shocks to that extreme?

hey dingo, good question. i don't notice it as i can correctly setup the shocks to stop this. more evol psi, i run 160psi in my evol and it can go right up to 300psi so i can't imagine that i would not have enough adjustability in this to eliminate it. i had a dive problem once on a downhill under brakse, i added 4 psi to my evol and it fixed it. you could be correct in saying that in the USA pros might find that they push the limits of the standard off the shelf shocks, but this is why they are factory backed aand they use this data to then put into production. in the Gen 2 Fox evol, we have a bigger EVol air canister that takes more air to compensate for the increased build up.

Lens claim of that the pros in the USA use a 20mm spring in there shocks is correct, as all Fox evols even mine have a spring in there shock, i think it is something to do with toping out or something.

as for roll in the corners, you watch any rider on Fox, slow or fast, pro or sport rider, and you tell me where you see roll. if you see it, it is no differant to any other shock, or there shocks are not setup correctly. a few more PSI and as minimal as 2 psi makes a world of differance.
i would of made 10 guys day in the last few months just by adding 2 psi here and there. and this is no differant to what len would do if his customers could not setup there shocks correctly.
difference is that with Fox you add some PSI for ride height and spring rate. compared to others you change the spring and adjust the spring collar.

Len doesn't understand Fox, as he has never adjusted, or ridden on a set, thats why he has all negetive comments. i bet you if he owned a set he would be very pleased just like you are dingo with your PEP and just like i was with my PEP when i owned them.

Mick ,

Still going round the same old mountain I see.

Your comments are untrue and we have already covered it .

Hey what would Wayne or I know, you clearly have more ATV set up experience than us from all the Nationals you have won ?

Wrong spring Mick.

You can try and speak for me as much as you like.

I have ridden Fox shocks .

I really dont like the body roll no matter what I pumped or how I pumped it .

As mentioned 20 laps around that mountain before, the Evils only work in the last part of the stroke so its probably a placebo effect you are experiencing or maybe talking BS often enough will help you end up believing it yourself, dunno ?

I'm gonna smack both your heads together in a minute!
They are both good shocks, agreed.
So Lenny, how is that rash going Tiger?

len why don't you give up, as you say your right in every aspect, so now is the time to give a rest.

Dingo asked a question, and i gave him a non BS answer. if you beg to differ pm him and tell him.

now is the time to go away and sell some PEP's if you can keep up with the orders.

Yep thanks guys, i have all the information i need, and in doing so now know not to ask any Q`s on this thread in relation to fox shocks, did you know in doing so it was the 2nd most visited thread and the 2nd most responded thread since the rule change thread of 9-02-011, how sad is that, i have more pressing matters, one is that on the Easter weekend we have a Quad only trail ride on here, so most of my energy is being chanelled into this. Might i add that on the same weekend as Quad riders we have a selection of events to attend, the Condo 750 and the TP 300, events that i hope to go to myself one day, so i hope i don`t hear the old story of "oh there`s nothing or nowhere for us Quad riders to do or go "

Believe it or not there are a lot of people out there trying, our motto, Just-do-it .

Sorry Hook it got to arguments over product, I only wanted to try and give everyone a real perspective on suspension and their capability.
I feel this is what forums should be about, weighing up different opinions with the facts.

I feal getting feedback from Wayne owner of PEP who has worked with the likes of factory Honda America,Suzuki,KTM,Yamaha,Can Am...Quad racers like Tim Farr, Yokley, Fitch, Weinan, Bird, Lancaster,Brenton,Holmes,Watson,Duprey and many more is a real treat.

It went from it can be done to unless you can match the Damping with the spring or Air rate you are limited to such a weight change in any Brand or type of shock . Thats if you want them to work properly anyway.

Take care
