We are planning to visit this area soon and would appreciate any info on tracks for us to explore, ie. Roses tier Rd, Joy Rd, East/West tower region, Storeys Creek area and any others that are recommended. Cheers

A good ride is along Ragged Jack No 7, a very old logging track though it's hard to tell nowadays.
You follow the Blessington Road from Launceston until you come to the main Ben Lomond turn off. You then turn off to the right a couple of kilometers along this road to the right which is Ragged Jack Track.
You then follow Ragged Jack track until you come to an old disused gravel pit on the right hand side. This is where you unload your quads.
You then follow Ragged Jack Track until you come to a turn off on the left which has a small sign "Ragged Jack No 7". From memory it's the fourth turn off to the left.
It's pretty rough old track and there are a couple of nice creeks to cross and there are spectacular views of Big Ben and Stacks Bluff. When you leave the old logging track you come to made roads and it's pretty easy riding.
The round trip takes a few hours but is well worth it.
I've attached a map we did last time we were there with APRS hardware.
P.S. It pays to take some warm clothes because it can get pretty wild up there even in the middle of summer.

Thanks Duneblazer a good reminder to pack the digital camera.
Add that to the checklist.
I will have the GoPro so there will be some video footage as well.

well i had a great ride Sat, just a day trip, awesome weather! You ride an XX right Doel#20?? i was having a bite to eat at the beach just past the Cape lighthouse saw one XX fly by!

yeah i do, but we only rode from the aurthur river to temma and back,stoped and played in the bowl for a while on way back was a few others in there playing as well |
