 |

I came across these while researching quad rego in Europe.
Road tyres and different wheels are part of the requirements. Apparently a whole industry exists to make the quads compliant with their rules. And off roading is extremely limited, so the lowered suspensions are not problem with the main usage...... _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

I do. And that rope has been used to pull Yamaha, Can Am and even Toyiota through on many occasions Feral.
I will admit to getting towed once. The made in Japan vacumn hose perished and died.......
The Jackal has gone Taiwanese., but both our bikes have plenty of storage room for all the creature comforts trailing and touring with a full sized passenger. Which is one thing the Renegades pictured are not set up to do.
Dunno about racing but. Nothing wrong with it, but I'm just not interested. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

you can't in wa as far as ive been able to work out unless you perform a job which requires the use of an atv and requires you to regularly cross public roads as part of the job.
i know of a guy with an outlander that has been rego'ed in wa as he has a contract mustering company. it required the addition of indicators and mirrors to what you can buy at the shop. however if you just use it for play then they are unregisterable (in wa at least).
stupid really cause there isn't a good reason i can think of why you shouldnt be able to. |

Tassie has a good set up, Qld needs a lot of improvement, NSW has Stochton Beach, WA has some legal riding, Victoria heard that Ned Kelly rides a quad bike and are out looking for him and I'm not real sure about the either Territory or South Aus. _________________ Remember. It gets a bit nutty with the different stuff the various states and territories offer for us. But full road rego we do not have and will never get it.
The EU has a form of rego that allows the quads to be ridden on their road network after modifications have been certified, etc.
Tassie has a Rec rego with a authorised secondary road, but mainly track network. Not perfect but it works. NSW also has a rec rego, but only Stockton Beach to use it at.
All the States have a conditional rego meant for earth moving and farmers equipment, and the attatched conditions vary a lot. .....
If you check extensively with your State/Terriritory authority who looks after the rego, you will get a much clearer picture of what is available in your neck of the woods.
And with well over 40 000 quads sold in the last two years in Aus, you would think that the Authorities would be polishing cash registers instead of chairs. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Yeah, no worries Feral. Any ride is betrter than watching, hey!
You'll understand what the Jackal meant about BRP about 3:50 into this
