Hi guys,
My name is James, just joined the forum and introducing myself.
The reason I've joined is that I've just bought a 1984 Honda ATC125M which I'm in the middle of a full restoration.
For those of you interested, I'm taking progress photos the whole way, and if you have any questions or tips etc drop me a line.
The wire wheel on my bench grinder and the oxalic acid bath really are my best friends!
My friends looked at it when I brought it home and probably would have dumped it, because it looked pretty bad. I could see it was mostly surface rust and old paint, and desperately in need of some attention.
This is my third major re-build, the first being a 125 Quad which I re-built into an off road buggy complete with full roll cage, velour seats, rack and pinion steering, sports wheel etc.
The second was a Honda XR125, which was trashed, but iafter about 60 hours work it looked like a showroom model.
With the ATC, I've stripped it completely, and just got the frame back from the powdercoaters. Every piece has been very carefully de-rusted, cleaned, and re-painted, so it should look like a brand new one when it's finished.
I was fortunate to find the 125 and a Big Red 200cc sitting together rusting away in someones garden, and bought them both.
The 200 was really trashed, rusted out, tyres and axle shot etc, but I salvaged the engine, tank, bars, risers, tool box, air cleaner box, front fender and a few other parts if anyone is interested.
Great to find a forum like this, and looking forward to participating here.
Best
James |

Hi there,
Thanks,
This might sound like a silly question, but how would I link to photos, do I just upload them to a host site and paste the link here?
Best
