Not sure what happend for Quads in the QLD round of the Australian Super Motard but there was only 3 entries?Pig ,Me and probably ol mate Shane. Anyways I recieved a SMS today saying we are elimenated period!
I only have one thing to say Piss weak !

hey, hold on a second..
dont blame qld pal, there are only 1 maybe 2 supermotard guys up here anyway (shane,mark,) and maybe a couple of ring ins that might have been conviced to come along. Before you start having a go at "qld" you should have a look at the guys who raced the previous races in Nsw who said they would support the series?

p.s come north of the border and be prepared to be linched !

Two outa three prepared to drive Hours !
Shane(Shanes a white man) and Mark(saw me crash good !) and a couple of ring ins would of done it !
NSW had the goods and run the rounds in NSW!
Linched ?Moree ? I say,mud crab!

Maybe this trip to the states is costing me a lot more then i thought, we have 3 of the NSW riders over here....we went to EVERY practise day they held even if it was on in the middle of the week, we were dedicated to every series, just didnt have the numbers, to make Vic worthwhile, Qld the same..........Well we tried

I dont think Mark Avard ever tried to hard for us to get Quads happening, He never included quads in his flyers, you log on to his site and nothing about quads, any article written on races, even the demo days we did, nothing was written that quads were even at the event. If you didnt log onto DBW you would not know you could race quads in SYdney, i'm sure there are a lot more riders that would had fun doing this, just never got the chance to hear about it.

the biggest issue in qld and i presume nsw, is that we cant get the numbers to push more than one discipline. eg victoria. all they do is mx and they get heaps of numbers. here in qld we have 8-15 quads at every meet for mx and its going well. but we cant expect people to fork out the money to have 3 setups.
we need to push one discipline as we dont have the numbers for dirtrack/motard. im happy to race motard, but the numbers arent there.
we need to stick together.

I think maybe if you are trying to increase numbers on race days then motard is probably not the way to go, very expensive for someone to buy a set of leathers when they could race MX on a stock quad with the riding gear they already have.
Look at WA and VIC both strong ATV states and both MX, why not learn from these guys, you can still support the motard but need to concentrate a bit more on the other areas like developing a clubman and pro class at MX meets so the new guys new to the sport dont spend the day lost back in the dust wondering why they even bothered.

i hear ya buddy, when i get back we will be focusing a bit more attention to MX, but one big issue, NO MX tracks in sydney accept quads, the closest one so far is about 3 hours away.

Too Bad, I think if you had a track within an hour of the metro area things would start to happen, MNSW is supposed to promote the sport I do not see that happening.

MNSW are doing the exact opposite, and charge us $255.50 a year.

They had the hide to alter Government documents that had a proposed QUAD BIKE PARK, they covered the quad photo with a two wheeler. There is a proposed motorsport parkland in Eastern creek which MA want all 200 acres for themselves, but at this stage 100 acres for them, 100 acres for quads. Check your latest MA ruling booklet and you can tell they bodged up the photo. Blactown city coucil apparently were a little pissed with this and hopefully this can help us get a quad bike park.

I believe MX is a strong disaplin and in WA flat track is fairly strong as well .Victoria have really only done MX .QLD is a bit of both,NSW is Both and not very strong due to the Geographics of venue and the acceptance of Quads at MX Tracks
MX is not for every one and in particular the older you get the more Dirt track ,Speedway and Supermotard you wanna do rather than MX.
If carefully managed you can do the various disaplins . Super Motard is really not that expensive .I still have plenty of tread on the Veloce tyres after 6 meetings that actually last longer than some mx tyres. Leathers are a one off cost of $550 .
Todd I hear what you say about practise days and thats great and it will have to be good enough for the now.
We are about to rally up Quads in NSW ,anyone who is interested in Quad riding ,racing,selling ATV accesories,social...whatever.
We will then need to conduct a survey with questionaire (market reserch )and treat it like a business plan) The reserch will reveil what the people want and I believe wants and needs will vary in different locations of a state aswell as differences between each state.
We then act upon these wants and needs.
Choose two delegates from each disaplin to rally up race meetings with clubs and promoters.
Gather dates and bring it to the Quad club meeting for discussion and produce an Action plan.Race ride and have fun.
The past has been a little disorganized and the passion level low.
NSW Lets see if we can get it right this time!

there are tracks that allow quads its just there primary customer/racer are 2 wheelers so they obviously look after them, which i can understand, a few tracks i rang said they have no problem whatsoever with quads using the facility but only during the week or when its quite due to liability issues with quads and 2 wheelers on the same track at the same time or some "profanity removed".

i know nowra dont want quads on there track at all but ulladulla i think it is is ok and there are a few others that are cool with us using theirs aswell.

might do a big ring around and find out exactly who wants us and who doesnt....

If you can get an MX meeting near Sydney that would be awsome for Quads in NSW!
There is the potential of the big numbers !
