Ok Guys
We need a start point so I'll go out on a limb and say lets all meet at my place on a Friday nite soon- this week or next.

I have room for about 50 Quads in my back yard and some unercover for people.

Hows this sound:

Bring yourself
Bring others
Bring Quads (QUAD MUSTER bit- show and shine wank off etc.)
Bring alcohol or softdrink if your thirsty.
Most of all bring your ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!


This meeting that I'm suggesting is not to ride but to get to see whos who and what the interest is like.


Please post reply or PM and I'll work it if its a goer then give details of time and location- as a heads up I live in Marsden.

I will talk with the likes of Huge and others who posted to the Connondale thread to help with the numbers as I only have met a few of you.

Where is Marsden ?? is it somewhere in Brisbane ....

Count me in .... wont bring bike , but will trek from sunny coast to meet and discuss . Just need a bit of warning to organise life .

The location is just a suggestion- open to others but I dont mind providing a venue till we get something worked out.

As for where Marsden is its just off the Logan motorway. Its 30km south of Brisbane GPO 50km north from Surfers GPO. About 7km from Pacific motorway.

I'm next door to the Kingston Raceway (go karts)

will be back you soon with more info - i am trying to get a 2 day ride together that is good for every one including kids and the missus wether or not they ride.
if i am unable to get it off the ground or no one supports it i will just crawl back into the large hole i can out of

We can meet where ever. I honestly dont mind it at my place which is why I suggested it. As I said before it was only a suggestion to get people together if others were reserved about 'making it happen'. No doubt your venue is adequate and thats all we need. I am up for whatever venue so count me in one way or another!!

I think we do need to meet before anyone makes too many commitments as we really are unsure of numbers and sentiment among those interested.

I dont want to see any one get dis-heartened after putting in a good effort to get organised due to lack of interest or poor communication.

Huge's work sounds like a good base , and may be closer for others as well.

Especially if we are meeting on a friday night.

I agree with Rapshee - good to gauge the support . It may well be we start as a small group and by association we grow it over time. This will allow us to be selective in who is invited to be a part of the group.
The last thing we want is out of control d"dickheads" who will give us a bad name.
Once again i say ...cater for the families and you will get more support.
Family who plays together - stays together. (and its easier to get a whole family there than 5 or six individuals).

I like Huge's idea that he is trying to get a two day ride /camp option happening . If it was close enough - some could come for the day only instead ???

Hello Gentlemen,

I have been following this thread and I like the idea of a ride over the weekend. I live in Gladstone and would like to get back into the racing scene but find it difficult as they only race on Sunday. If you were to organise a week end ride Us people who live away could travel Friday afternoon (after work), ride ALL day Saturday, Sunday morning and leave Sunday lunch time. This would mean that we could get home at a reasonable time and be able to return to work on Monday.

Has anyone approached the QQRC as we all know about the numbers thing.

I know that there are a number of weekend rides that cater for the two wheeler bunch. Has anyone approached these organisation to see if we could piggy back of one of these weekends as they seem to have their insurances sorted out. Some time ago three of us turned up at Lowmead for one of these rides. At first they weren't going to let us ride but then they decided it was more money for them ($20 each) and they let us. Most tracks were rideable and where it was too skinny we just made our own tracks. It turned out to be a good weekend.

If enough notice was given I would be prepared to drive to Brisbane for a Friday night meeting as there is a group of us up here that I could represent who would be keen to do the weekend social thing and even the enduro style racing if it were to get of the ground as I believe that the whole MX thing intemidates a lot of the masses out there.

at this point i think i need to confirm what i an about to do and what i am keen to get started

first - i am about to post a new thread
this thread will be invitting people to join me and my family for a weekend ride/camp on SAT/SUN 28th and 29th of april no string atached
(ride at own risk)
i the mean time any one keen for a day ride give us a pm

second - at this point i am only realy keen to get a good group of people together that enjoy the sport of bush/trail motor bike riding with out the racing agro or the bling bling $$$$$$$ (just enjoy our bikes) i am also not fusted on whether or not your on 4 or 2 wheels
i am cool with 1 day adult rides or camp over family do's as my kids ride as well as my wife
of late i get the impresion that there is a lot of people in the same spot im in and i am just trying to get us all together say once a month to rip up some bush trails ----- i dont need to know the ins and outs of your life or how much cash you have and dont care if you ride a new quad or an old 1980s XL500- lets just go out ride have a drink or two at night and then ride some more thats it
if this starts to atract large numbers after a while them we will look further into clubs and members
