One scam they are using is , ---They offer to buy it and then pay by Paypal. they send a "broker agent" to collect the vehicle and then they cancel the Paypal payment , even though the money has already gone in your account . Paypal then debit your account at the buyers request and you have lost the money and the vehicle. There is nothing you can do about it .
make sure you get cash (no bank cheques unless you go to the bank with the person and see the cheque drawn) .
Be extremely careful, there are heaps of these guys operating through carsales etc every day ..... _________________ It's time too ride !!!!!!! |

sometimes its so they can add your email address to a list that they then sell to spam canvassers etc. this is just annoying though not as dangerous as the paypal racquet

How can that be legit? Once it's in my Paypal account it should stay there until I change it. I do believe you though, as I've had a mate (seller) get scammed this way.
I only use Paypal for small value <$500. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

Had this earlier this year. I played dumb and kept asking stupid questions about Paypal 'What's Paypal?' and kept him going until he must have been convinced he had hooked a whale. I made up an email addy through gmail and used that. Got to the point of telling him I was ready to recieve payment and the details would follow in an attachment from my secretary. I then posted up a request for pictures of penises on one of the dodgy forums with his email addy. _________________ Write something witty here! |
