I know Uncle Lenny is a born salesman but I don't think some people understand a few of his statements.
This is my own personal PEP experience. When I purchased my "custom" shocks I had to provide info on my bike down to brand and model of all accessories, bullbar, skid plates, nerfs, handlebars and A-arms as well as info on myself, weight, age, riding style, ability and my intended riding activities (trail, moto-x etc).
When I received them they came included with very detailed instructions with recommended settings for my chosen A-arms (camber, castor etc.). When I rang Lenny to confirm all these settings he sent Wayne an email including photos of my bike asking for his recommendations. The reply from Wayne could only be descibed as exceptional. The obvious time spent on a reply to an old fella out in the bush in C.Q. Oz impressed me hugely. He even mentioned things like I shouldn't change my settings until I changed the bald tyres I had on my bike at the time. I still carry a copy of this email when I'm away racing for reference.
When Lenny was up in CQ for the state titles he spent a few hours on my bike fine tuning things to suit me even better. I have been able to ring him at anytime (weekends, late nights) for set-up advice and always get the pros and cons of any changes I want to make. He has even advised me with possible solutions after I recently sent my shocks elsewhere to be serviced (I think they haven't been done correctly).
Before anybody accuses me of p*ssing in his pocket let me tell you I paid full price for my shocks and any other gear I have got of him and would again as long as he keeps answering his phone. I believe the extra money I've spent will be recouped in his after sales service.
about time I started getting a discount I think you should agree Len _________________ 10 LTR 555 Dingo

Everyone can offer the service but few rarely back it up. You might get the service Mick because of your profile but very few average riders could say the same thing. The only people in Oz who have offered to me what I would call great service would be Len, Luke and Scott Bently. Others are getting better as the market grows but that appears to be greed rather than wanting to help customers.
Anyway everybody knows that Suzuki/Fox is the best combo, just ask Josh Creamer and Dustin Wimmer. _________________ 10 LTR 555 Dingo

and Luke B is a Fox distrubutor. i can only recomend which is what i am good at and pass on the sale which is what i do, i am not in the seller, i just race.
the main issue at the moment i am seeing is making sure you buy in Australia. espeically if you are looking at shocks. whether Fox, PEP, Elka ebay is ever too tempting at the moment with the US $ but you will not get any aftersales service what so ever.
i have heard a few stories lately of people buying from US and are not very happy. and has ended up costing alot more money and a major headache.
no KTM with PEP is the best quad on the planet, i thought KTM was race ready out of the box? but with $4000 extra spent on the suspension makes it the best quad in the COSMOS. _________________ 2012 sponsors, Working on it. |

I will agree with Mick on one thing and that is people that have bought Shocks from the US can be mis informed and they are at times not what we quote here ,ie no rebound on Fronts which in 95% of applications is fine but they cost $500 Less so you havent saved anything
If something goes wrong with the product ,good luck with getting any kind of support
KTM is the most race ready Quad available and like anything can be customised to suit the racer, they are better with PEP Suspension all dialled in. _________________ Cheers

in the past 2 weeks i recomended 4 x full Fox setups for ATV riders who were in need of a full suspension setup in Australia and they ended up buying them via a distrubutor in Australia or directly from Hardiman approx $12,000 in sales all becuase the Shocks are the best
two of the customers will take delivery of the product next week as the products was in stock the other 2 in 2 weeks time as they are getting custom made to order while we speak, why did they buy fox because of all the things that Fox and Elka can do and PEP can't.
let us know when you sell 4 setups in a week at a non discounted rate and not to sponsored riders .
your sales pitch is true, you can offer all those quality things to your customers, but so can everyone else and more i guess when you know more about F1 suspension than all of us, i guess you must know what your talking about we know your mate from PEP does.
i dread your extened reply |
Hi Mick,
Good luck to your new sales ,I dont gloat on sales only satisfied customers,we sell value for money .
Wayne hasnt ridden either but he has worked on them and with racers in the states ,I can confidently say he would know more about them than anyone else in OZ.
What is the cost of a new shock body when the roost damages the sealed Surface?
Custom Made ?
They are pulled from the shelf and distributed, the pump dictates the rest.
You pump them up to handle better and the ride hieght is too high and stroke to hard.
You lower them to get the correct ride hieght and soften them in the process, too soft and dives in corners.
You pump the evol chambers to 200lbs but it just doesnt fix the dive problems into corners .Races are won in corners .
You cant adjust Spring load progression with cross over to get changes throughout stroke as they have are no springs . I am told by reliable sources that the top US Racers actually run them lower, loose travel in the process and put springs in them so they dont dive in corners.
I bet your new customers wont get this set up ?
The last time we raced I lowerd my PEP suspension and Kicked your Fox Butt at Parramatta speedway and I am nearly twice your age, why ? Because PEP Handle corners like nothing else.
I know enough not get caught up in the Hype and stick with what I know works best .
I have a new nic name for you Ritchy Ritch ( the poor little rich boy )
You may too young to remember this cartoon character from the 70's ?
You would be better off sticking to what you know and that is making money. JMHO
Happy Pumping Mick (Daily I here)
I can see why you were dreading my reply Mick _________________ Cheers

once again, a whole lot of wroung information Lenny boy
i don't have to pump anymore, im going to be dad soon
one thing i really hate is when someone misleads people and supplys information they know nothing about all for there financial gain, more like Wayne says this becuase he owns PEP of course he is going to misleasd customers and steer towards his product.
Hey Lenny i am glad you like to beat a standard 525 IRS in speedway. maybe if you looked harder you would of noticed there was no Evols on my bike and i woud of thought the 505 woud of been more out in front considering the IRS engine hadden even been touched/ and we all know yours is stock of course (not, its out of the box)
We know PEP's are great just like the KTM, just tell us again and again just in case someone missed it. _________________ 2012 sponsors, Working on it. |

Well Mick you are the one that needs to stop Misleading people , Wayne is stating the truth and a man of integrity. I promise you I don't make my income from suspension , it is what I love to do,Dingo posted it here and you come in to try and undo it with comments of no truth or substance.
Hey Lenny i am glad you like to beat a standard 525 IRS in speedway. So am I ,Yeh Right ,there is nothing wrong with the performance ,Gavs 540 had more power , it is the handling .maybe if you looked harder you would of noticed there was no Evols on my bike and i woud of thought the 505 woud of been more out in front considering the IRS engine hadden even been touched/ and we all know yours is stock of course (not, its out of the box) It is stock actuality

Mick I found your comment you made on Thumb Pump in respect to your race trip to New Caledonia see the truth below everyone.
"Luke's Yamaha was the best of the pick, with reasonable stock horse power but it included a great set of Fox shocks, Steering Dampener and Flexx Bars.
My Suzuki had none of that but it included a severely blown rear shock. This proved a challenge all weekend to make sure that I didn’t hurt myself on the big jumps."
I would say going by your own words above it had nothing to do with PEP but maybe a little to do with the BS factor .

Mick you are about as straight as a Dogs hind leg or the crooked old mans walking stick !
A reliable source let me know you have a 540 big bore kit when you raced me at Parramatta ! My KTM is 477 and stock , you are very economical with the truth and a bit special at the same time

nice one again lenny, we all have our race secrets my 540 was in pieces at home getting rebuilt that day, we didn't finish it in time to whoop your butt
hey len this is getting a bit of who said this and who said what. i don't like it or do i want to scoop to your level to get my point accross. there is a great choice of products for the consumer out there, i like PEP, i have raced and ridden them, but there is other great product out there too and others with differant features other than PEP.
i hope to see some more ATV NRG PEP's around the place. _________________ 2012 sponsors, Working on it. |
