Right O' , who out there has had a big off and what did they bust on there Quad, extra points for Pics and double for Video,

Just thinking off this because I came off last weekend, the quad did one sideways roll and 2 end for end flips, destroyed Steering stem, Front bumper, rear grab bar, nerf bars and foot pegs and a new Fox Carbon Fibre helmet.

Lets see what you've done!

worst crash i've had was on an lt80, flipped over the front, got hit in the back of the head (with helmet on) by the bumper then it rolled over me. No real injuries from it. Put my shoulder out on quad twice but neither of them were crashes haha. Lets hope i stay so crash free Very Happy

Worst was on my chinga 110, flogging along and the front wheel broke off turned sideways and threw me over the front, it then flipped over and the rack smashed me on the shoulder blade. Spend christmas eve in the emergency waiting room at the hospital before they could decide it wasn't busted.
Best stack was I tried to hit a big double on a mates super-x track, only the right wheel landed on the down ramp, bike twisted around and threw me over the bars. Somehow I ended up landing backwards, but still standing up, so I ended up running backwards and didn't even fall on my arse. Wish they had have got it on video though.

A guy on a xr650 did a U turn in front of me as i crossed the finish line at Finke this year wide open in top gear bout 125kmh Tboned him cartwheeled the bike and land about 6ft from the back of the Ambulance they just opened the doors and put me in apparently, a dude said i did 2 flips in the air and just landed flat on my back he had just stop videoing when it happened. The impact pushed the left front wheel back about 100mm twisting the chassis. the feedback through the bars dislocated my left elbow. If i hadnt stopped for 15mins to help an injured rider I would have been drinking an icy beer when that clown crossed the line. Cheers to Scooter for the manly sponge bath once I finally got to camp, and also to Canam crew and Trent for getting me back to Alice where my mate was lying the hospital with hoses draining his body of unnecessary fluids after he woke up in the helecopter half way to Alice hospital. He didnt get out till wednesday then we found out someone had stolen his bike out there so we drove home in painful silence. The only plus was that the awesome volunteers found his bike hidden deep in the scrub about 930pm wed. after they couldnt let it rest and went back out looking. Great people great event lokking forward to next year

THE END

John

the big green one in your avatar? went over your foot? and didnt hurt?

worst i had, did a 180 right turn around a big power line base and as i flicked it back left it didnt straighten back up but kept on goin around. went into the scrub almost pointing backwards. looking over my shoulder going backwards hit a nice big clump of spinafex landed on my shoulder.
sat up winded, undone my helmet and went to pull it off and felt a pop in my left shoulder went dizzy so had a bit of lay down, finally got back up got on the quad knew somthing was wrong in my shoulder and rode home slowly,
went to to the docs and found broken collarbone got flown to perth for second opinion and almost had it pinned.

I fell in a drain on the side of the highway 1 night while I was pulling off the side of the road on a TT350.
Thats why I now ride a quad.

sorry guys but , i think i have witnessed one of the worst crashes today at fort lynton. the boy 8 yrs old left the track full noise power band open with the throttle jammed. a berm became a ramp and launched him out into the carpark, flying at least 10 m through the air into the bonnet of a parked car.
let me tell you its not nice seeing such a little boy in so much agony. only hope he is alright. last reports were he has severe head injuries.

i have never felt so disheartened seeing this little fella, especially when my 6 yr old was due to race next. let me tell you i took some convincing to let her go out,
but this can happen anywhere at any time to anyone. it was only lucky it happened at a well run event by officials who can deal with this situation as best as they could. he was riding a kx 65 dirt bike.
i havent heard anything yet but i hope his alright.

I'm glad I didn't see one of my 7yr old girls crash at the SA Titles
Apparently it was big but didn't hurt herself. After being assessed by the ambos she asked if anyone got a picture?? There is a picture but not of the actual crash.
If I had of seen the crash I think I would've been a mess!

thats funny how kids are like that, it was good she wasnt hurt. it makes you feel that little bit better, was her bike damaged.
i gave my daughter a full safety lecture before going out, she then turned around said i know dad i have a kill switch a red button switch and a key to turn off and if it goes out of control , i will jump off, she then said i m racing for fun and she wont be riding that fast. not bad for a 6 yr old, but then again i have not met any kids who think they no it all , that have anything to do with quads or bikes. they all seem to listen.

i my self had a big one and dont know how i walked away, let alone are still walking now.
i was roughly doing about 100 kph, just getting into it, on a slight down hill run when i was approaching an off camber corner . i tried desperately to wipe the speed off but i knew i was in trouble, all i could do was hope that i was going to come out it alive, the bike hit a ditch with the front right throwing me over the handle bars at a horizontal position , i then hit a tree with my lower back. i was just lucky that i was thrown to the side and not wrapped around it.
injuries- L5,L4,L3,L2, L1, coxsil bone and pelvis all bent out of shape in a zig zag motion, my pelvis was pushed forward, four ribs out of place, whiplash shoulder damage and concussion.
now for the pics.

the ditch

the tree and note the flat area to the right , that was where i landed.

the tree note the bark missing.

the damage

and this happened almost immediately.
