| Hi fellow quad enthusiasts, I am a pretty sedate type of rider who mainly started to give the kids in the family a fun activity. I bought some cheap quads second hand and have managed to keep them going. I - like a lot of others it seems on this forum are disheartened by the the lack of legal places to ride, especially when you live in Sydney. I see the minimal amount damage to the terrain our vehicles cause, especially when ridden responsibly(compared to legal vehicles) and the safety advantage over two wheelers for younger kids seems all the more reason for this sport to be encouraged. I suppose I sound a bit enraged because I am. I was booked crossing a road in one of the few bits of land that quadding seems possible in far western Sydney. Totally my fault, I know I shouldn't go near roads, but I am forced to resort to going to these places because Of the closed attitude towards our vehicles. I enjoy doing it too much to give it up so any advice or help I can give/recieve would be welcome. |

I take it you were around Menai?
To be honest unless you travel right out to the quad/bike parks NSW is as usual way behind the other states in terms of areas to legally ride and yet well advanced in terms of cost to register them.
Gooooo NSW....thats why I'm looking to get the hell out, when I lived in Qld I used to wonder why all the Mexicans were moving up, now, sadly, I know |

| Not Menai, Llandilo. signs everywhere telling me not to go in but I did. Had some bad advice from several people including a council ranger who said its usually OK (I wish the cops would nab the dumpers out there before they nabbed bandits like me and my 7 year old nephew) I asked the question why not let people ride out there and he came up with the old litigation/liability irresponsble riders line. Anyway thanks for the advice I have heard Stockton is the go, also Binacrombie. Queensland sounds good as well. |
