anything balloon shaped will bite in well and take off well but wont be as good at corners.
visa versa.

It might be a bit late, but here's my input anyway,

Aroung here, for sand use we almost always go for this setup:

22x8 10" with Chengshin C876 with the side studs cut off or
23x6 10" Goldspeed SX (they have no side studs)
for the front

22x8"10" with Duro Excavator, Titan XT489,4-snow or something like that
for the rear.

I do not know what you can get in Oz but i should go for a tyre that is big, balloon shaped and not to wide.

On the front we only keep studs in the middle so that you can steer around corners but do not get pulled out of the racing line by the side studs.
We simply cut off everything except a row of studs in the middle of the tyre.
For the rear we use a tyre that just claws its way thru the lose sand and is not to wide, again to keep it in the tracks.

hope this helps
