A mate of mine is looking at getting some new shocks for his LTZ400 and was wondering which would suit him better, he only does slow to medium pace trail riding,
Looking at Fox Floats without Comp/ Rebound adjust
and Elka Stage 1 with tripple spring rate no adjustments except preload.
Thanks Clarkie _________________ Has turned to the Dark Side! |

Shouldn't you have PEP on that list to Clarkie. I hear they are the best shocks on the planet. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

I've been told by many very good riders/racers they much prefer fox over elka but I'll just sit back and put the popcorn in the microwave _________________ You Can Fix Alot Of Things In This World But...

Ask Adam from QuadSquad, he builds, modifies and services all brands.
Even with differnet brand parts in different bodies.
He'll even be able to tell you which budget levels within each brand represent the good value for money.
And even some aftermarket shocks (out of the box) might suit different brand chassis and geometry very differently.

slow to medium trailriding, surely the stock shocks are fine, even a revalve/re-oil would be plenty.better than $1200-$4000 spent on new shocks.

The front shocks on an 03 LTZ 400 are not rebuildable or adjustable and are crap. _________________ Has turned to the Dark Side! |

I did just that, and he recommended to put Fox Floats on the front of my Honda.
I did spend a few bucks more and went for the Fox "R`s" though. _________________ Phil..... |
