 |
|
G'day Guys,
Looking at buying a 50cc quad for my 7 year old and after a few weeks research I am thinking I will go for the Outlaw 50. It appears to have a similar spec to the Jap options but the biggest selling point is that they are $1000-1500 cheaper. Thoughts?
Thanks. |

howdy fella, buy the 90, the 50 will be to small in about half an hour, just turn the throttle down a bit. And check ou the raptor 90 or the kawasaki 90 both good choices, we have the raptor 90 and the boy loves it, light and zippy. _________________ 2005 KFX700

Just out of Interest ..what are they asking for the 50 verses the 90....Cause I agree get the Outlaw 90 or the Jap 90s .. _________________ Truth and Honor and Trust ... never under estimate Them. |

Must admit I have been in two minds whether to go for the 90 or 50. I guess if it has a throttle restriction screw I can effectively make the 90 have 50 performance when he first jumps on. The initial cost difference swung me to the 50 but in the long run getting the 90 first up would save me $s. I'll wait and see what deals are on offer leading up to Christmas but I guess at this stage it is between KFX90, Raptor 90 and Outlaw 90. The Honda 90s are $4500!!!
Thanks guys. |

I have the raptor 90 for the little ones and they both love it , as Yogie said very zippy and very light to manouvre , good value for money , and they can grow into it , plus good resale when they grow out of em _________________ 2012 Can am Outlander Xt 1000cc

Yogie how did you know that Husky has his whole computer alarmed and he also has a cord from the keyboard to his big toe that pulls him out of bed as soon as canam is mentioned on ozatv no matter what time it is.
i bought my daughter a scramble 50 back when they were size of a 90 we have had that bike for 5 yrs and still going strong. Best idea is to buy a 90 and that will last them for awhile instead of half an hour. Then wait till they master the quad then they need speed my son jack is 8 now and rides a chinese 150 cc race quad he only makes third gear but looks like ktm he loves it and it will last him till hes at least 12. |

| I had a chineeeese 125 with reverse for my 3 year old girl and never restrcted it and she learned throttle control straight up and i bought it for 700 new,....4 weeks ago i bought a yamaha 90 and she is 4 now and she will not get off of it ...no restrictions and paid 3100 new 2010 and it looked big but she is 4 and i have never preasured her to ride it but will not get off. i think polaris 90 in perth have a special were it comes with all riding gear so maybe that might be good as well if they offer it where you live ...just about bought the can am 90ds 90 to match my 450ds but it 4500 and doesnt go as good as the yamaha ...but man it looks so cool like a true race bike ....just my 2 cents....i have never seen the kawi go so i cannot comment on it but yamaha is a real great bike for value and resale in perth ,,,2008 used in perth sold the other day for 2750 on gumtree... |

Reverse was the decider for me. DS90 or Sportsman 90 will be the only choice. I think the DS will win out.

purchased an outlaw 90 for my boy last wednesday not a bad thing. We wanted the Yamaha but with no reverse it was the Polaris
On another thread someone said why do you need reverse WELL i am so glad it got something with reverse he is always using it.
Also the lights all work on the polaris where they didnt on the yamaha. Makes it a bit safer as he really stands out in the dust.
Took him away for the weekend he never got off it so far so good no dramas with it.
I reckon it wont be long before he wants something faster though i clocked him once at 42kph not sure if that was flat out but still fast enough to get him in trouble on some of the trails we ride on
On the 50 V 90 i reckon go the 90. 4 kids that had never ridden anything before including my mates 4 year old were riding the 90 by themselves withing minutes. Just screw the throttle stop in and they cant get in to much trouble.
Will last them alot longer as well |
