Funny you saying that.
I was thinking this arvo that you could buy a 50 pack of .22 for <$2, virtually anywhere.
A brand new Holden ute left you change out of 6K.
And I was getting adult wages at 17. $309 a fortnight without allowances.
The 4wd boom had kicked off with 2 stroke Suzuki's for about 3k.
Honda trikes and Oddesey's were the only alternative to 4b's and bikes.
A fuel crisis sent fuel from about 26cpl to 48cpl in nothing flat.
laughing laughing laughing
I never had enough coin then, and I don't now. eek
And I still don't care!

Im much the same, I can remember when i rode my triumph around it was 4 shillings a gallon. havent things changed, I love the toys we have to play with now!!! But not all the rules that go with it, no radar no speed cameras no Hwy patrols no Gun laws didnt need them twas bliss. Ride in any bush around Australia and no one gave a dam haha, If someone fell over you picked them up Now its leave the Bas----d there charming!!! I used to go into KMart and buy my guns and ammo, And I lived in NZ for a couple of years, and milk was 4 cents a pint 5 pints for 20 cents 16 cents a loaf of bread 5 cents for a pay phone call,HaHa just realized im old!!!

To be honest unless you stall or turn the quad off while the exhaust is underwater there is no real need for an exhaust snorkel, though after watching some vides on you tube it seems quads aren't the best at staying running with exhaust submerged...not enough pressure at idle I'd guess.

I like the airbox and cvt breather, 4 wheel drives (road going type) have been doing Similar for years (though instead of CVT it's the diff breather), they were the first two mods I did to my old Hilux.

But remember that the heads are way above the exhaust level on a 4b Cypher, it's the other way round on quads.
Not to forget the cc of a car is a lot more than a quad.
That is pushing a lot for air out the dirty end on a 4b.
And you will need to do the diff breathers if your going to be doing this stuff..........................................

Dino

Thanks but I like to keep my ass dry lol

As I said, I noticed on you tube they struggle to keep running when the exhaust is submerged even when on an incline (engine above exhaust), not enough pressure from the engine.

We had a lot of fun testing the snorkels that day. laughing laughing
That snorkelled Crizzly was in 1200mm of flooding. :eek
General rule of thumb is that a 4wd quad will happilly handle water to the top of the wheels.
Your bum will be dry. Your boots? Probably not.
