G'day y'all. My name is Jamie, I have been reading the forum for a while now and thought I would join up and join in in the fun. I am 31 years old and am a paraplegic. I have been riding around for a few years now on a little Kazuma 150 but think its time to step up to a real bike now, hopefully a manual with Pingel/kliktronic shifting system on it. I plan on getting some advice on a nice bike later down the track, but for now will just enjoy the reading.
Cheers
Jamie |

Hi Jamie, I have a friend who is a paraplegic, she rides a honda quad fitted with an air two way ram on the gear shift ,you press one button to shift up and one to shift down its actually very fast at shifting through the gears. i hope you enjoy the site, and we would like to see some pics of your next bike setup, Enjoy _________________ Wear Cammo so nobody can see your stuff ups

Thanx for the welcome guys. Yes Fox, that is the system that I plan to arrange though I did not think of the air ram, I only thought of the electric way (ie. Kliktronic or Pingel) and have had a look around at the air ram set up and looks to be the same only cheaper which will be great at the moment
. Thanks for that. I used to ride around on a TRX Fourtrax 250 semi with half a broom handle wired to the shift lever and used to pull up or down to shift.
I am pretty keen on a Yamaha Blaster, but that would mean no electronic or air shifting due to no battery power unless I could harness the power from the lights somehow? So I think a welded up bar to change gears would be the better option? I know that it is kick start tho I think I will be fine with using my hand, leg, foot together to get it going. I like the idea of it being a two stroke, easy to fix. Yamaha reliability and that it is a 200cc with plenty of zippy power which is plenty enough for me from what I have seen. Any thoughts and opinions will be welcome.
Cheers

What about something like a yamaha auto where you have a simple High Low Reverse the 4 strokes are reliable as anything that is made today and then some, have a look at the 4x4 post and see where I go,Check out anything under the name ( Fox ) Grizzly -Dinno-Yogie- Outback.Earthmover has a couple of vids out , Hell just go through the lot there are hundreds of pics, I go on 300k plus rides all the time and never think about breaking down, there are some that go on 600k runs no problem, and it would be a lot easer with the gear shift up beside the tank, Im only throwing idea's at you,go look at some of our rides, _________________ Wear Cammo so nobody can see your stuff ups

Hi again,
Thanks for the suggestions. I am trying to stay a little clear of full auto for a few of reasons. I have an auto bike already (cvt) and one thing I have found is that it does not like jumping... well, the jumping is fine but the landing is not! When I land a jump the cvt having no clutch puts a lot of pressure on the gears and I have now stripped the gears in the gearbox twice because of this. I know its only a cheap bike, but I think even on a more expensive bike this would still not be healthy for the gears?
Another reason is that I actually want to "ride" the bike. In that I mean that I would like to have as much control of the bike as possible including having the option of playing with a clutch and shifting the gears when "I" want to. Also, I have to drive an auto car on the road, there is not much that I can do about that but I would like to get as much riding and enjoyment out of the bike as physically possible .
I do plan on getting an auto AG bike with front and rear racks later on to use for hunting, but for now I am looking for a quick little sporty bike to have some fun on, including small jumps.
Cheers

Hi Fox,
Yep, I strap my feet to the foot pegs. I use jockey straps to hold them in place. Another question, with your friend's bike... do they have a small air compressor mounted to the battery for the air shifter to work or something similar?
Cheers
