value for money u cant go past the narva 225 untima
$300 for the pair.
then stick 50 or 70 watt hid's in them for an extra $100.
they give out a better patten then the hella, and there easier to fit in your bar then the lightforce. |

Dangerman should know his lights well, just look at his bike. I swaer he must be scared of the dark. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

Dangerman has the right idea, Narva has come a long way in the last few years, you can get the 225 combo and put HID's in them or get the 225 HID's that come pre done, I personally run Hella Predators but the only reason is because I can get them cheap, before you shell out any coin give me a PM. _________________ Has turned to the Dark Side! |

I use Hella Rallye 4000's as I prefer the metal body instead of plastic (lightforce and narva). I then convert them to HID's, you can buy the whole lot off ebay for a good price, just buy the lights and HID kits seperately or they rip you off.
PS: The LF and Narva are good lights as well, just my preference _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

We had lightforce for about 5 years on our old 4BY a great light
My lady hit some white marker posts when driving asleep one night and the cover sprung off. I clicked it back on good as gold
Having the adjustable beam is the best for driving in the city or a highway or the back country roads and the different color covers for different applications _________________ If its got wheels I'll drive it!

the first question isnt what light but how much room do you have?
most knobs (no offence)
have there lightforce hanging way out past the front of the bar as they dont phisically fit in the opening. when you hit a post, kangaroo, deer, or in my case a 8yr old school kid on a bike. you want your lights to be back behind the bar so they dont get hammered. so if they are protected behind the bar, they wont get direct impacts. then plasctic will allways out perform steel, as it dosent rust, or dent. there lighter, and there at least $100 minimum cheaper.
and once converted to hid the light output is awesome.
i have a set of 225 narvas with 50 w hid 4700 k and there = to the american hid's the JRE has for a 1/3rd the price.
by the way the girl went thru a stop sign in the rain and hit me head on. luckily for her i was only doing 30.
she flew about 5m but wasnt seriouly injured.
her bike on the other hand was scrap.
and my bar and lights didnt even need adjusting. |

Bye the way The Girls & I have mowed down that much stuff in that old wagon that if those lights were crap in any way they would not have lasted _________________ If its got wheels I'll drive it!

Dangerman is right the narva's are a great cost effective alternative the VisionX HID's that I distribute are around $650-700 a light depending on the exchange rate They are a metal body dual ballast 50watt glass lensed light and are excellent quality. I had 240XGT Lightforce before and these make them look like dolphin torches but they are alot dearer. the biggest difference is all plastic lense lights WILL discolour over time reducing output as the plastic cannot handle the heat of HID that is why glass is better but then it is also more vunerable to damage. However the visionX lights have a rubber sealed polycarb cover which creates a 1/2" air gap impact zone preventing the lense being damaged by rock impacts. hellas lense covers are hard against the glass and in a hard hit the cover deflects and breaks the lense anyway. If any one is interested in the VisionX lights check out the Website www.visionXusa.com and PM me for a price delivered to your door
cheers John |

I run lightforce 240XGT's converted to HID, Had them on for just over 12 months now and think they are tops. My brother runs britax hid's and they seem to be a good light also. For durability though you cant go past the old cibie oscar, the old boy has had a set for over 15 years and recently converted them to hid. i doubt i will get 15 years out of my lightforces _________________ 07 KFX700

Lightforce HID. Lightest, toughest and made in Australia.
They have a promo vid where they start smashing them with a baseball bat and all they do is re adjust them. _________________ When I'm racing I'm living..... everything else is just waiting. |

the factory hid only use a 35 watt bulb
so if you retrofit a halogen light you can install a 50 watt or even a 70 watt hid kit so the output would be far brighter and a lot cheaper if u retrofit. |

If you bye a product & then feel the need to modify it then you bought the wrong thing . So befor you tamper with it take it back and bye the product already retrofitted _________________ If its got wheels I'll drive it!

no i didnt its on the second line 650-700 per light depending on the exchange rate, alot cheaper than the Hella Predators which run around 1200 each last time i checked.
also Ken Block and Travis Pastrana run them on their USA Factory WRX rally cars. HID is the way forward but at a price LED is catching up and the new 10 watt stuff at 900 lumens per cell is unreal 50000hr runlife 5 year warrantee cant go wrong. All the other brands are still using VisionX's old 3 watt technology. Like the rigid industries light bars made cheaply in China. |

i JRE was talking to the post above mine by john mags.
and earthmover the retrofitted light is far brighter and 1/4 the price.
with the same life span.
and takes 20 minutes to change over from halogen to hid.
why would anyone pay $2k for lights when u can make a better product for $500?
its just sad that they charge so much for genuine hid products when the bulbs and ballasts are so cheap to manufacture. |
