Hi there, a mate of mine is wondering if anybody knows of any places in melbourne that specialise in tuning banshee's and also stock hi performance aftermarket gear...

He had it tuned not long ago by a place who deal in selling new Banshee/Raptors etc its called K&J Thomas in melbourne but he reckons it goes shitloads worse tuned than it did before he took it in (reason for taking it in to get a tune was it was stalling on idle and stuff all the time and sometimes it would idle really ridiculously high for no apparent reasons), He said before it went in it felt bloody fast and was responsive as all hell never dropping out of band, Now he sez it is really flat off band and its not responsive at all anymore, and he said sometimes when he hits powerband and then changes to the next gear its boggy and out of band all the time and feel flat as a tack till he fans the clutch or something.

Anyhow point of all this is he is looking for a workshop in melbourne that just specialises in tuning & working on banshees that also sell hi po parts as he is looking to do some mods to it aswell to get it really moving..

Thanks in advance and any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know of any shops in Melbourne that work specifically on banshees as there just isn't a big enough market. Maybe you could ask Pete from Southern Quads to help you out, he frequents this site also.

A bit off topic but have you ever had the carbys apart? My old banshee experienced exactly the same problems as yours, poor & uneven idle, sluggish off the bottom and idling fast for no reason. Turned out I had put the carby slides in back to front.

Hi there mate, yeah well this place K&J said that they pulled the carbys apart and cleaned it all and stuff but from looking at it after he got it back it looked like all they done is made it idle nice and stuffed with the mixtures or something which has made is go shitter.

Hopefully somebody will know somebody in melbourne or hopefully that guy you mentioned will spot this thread and pop in as he might know somewhere or somebody.
