Taylor enjoyed his first mx yesterday and enjoyed every minute.
1st race after a couple of little off's he ended up around 5th, then the 2nd and 3rd race he came 1st in class and 2nd overall. (modifed and OEM's raced together) Ended up with a first in his class for the day on his first MX race

A big thanks to the QRASA for putting on the event and all those who helped out and a big thanks to Danny Penrat for all his help and Grant from Pro Shark Australia for providing a great safe fun bike for the kids, straight out of the box.

Ron, if you mean ramming into the back of my son's quad nearly injuring him and breaking his quad as " a little off" then i would hate to see him have a real big off! Lets hope he can learn some good sportsmanship before some other little kid gets hurt. But i guess filling the trophy room and web page is more important then someone else's little kid!

Jason,
I thought you would have got over it by now, obviously you don't understand racing incidents as everyone else saw it as.
Yes Taylor did accidentally hit Cooper as they were entering a corner, Taylor came up on him quicker than he thought Taylor didn't brake early enough he admits all that and he hit Cooper from behind the first thing he did was to go see Cooper make sure he was ok and apologise for the incident. He even offered his other bike for Cooper to use if his was damaged. If that is not good sportsmanship well I don't know what is.

No one was injured or hurt in anyway and a broken bit of plastic is not really what you call a broken quad is it? Incidents happen at all levels of motor sport and here we are talking about juniors. Getting upset about it doesn't help either.

If you want to discuss it rationally give me a call anytime.

as it was his first run in moto x he may have been a bit excited. i think something mabe him stall early on in the race which would have made him push a lot harder(as it does to all of us if that were to happen) and yes these accidents do happen, but let the young fella know that theres plenty of space and time to overtake on a moto x track. that way all persons and bikes stay in tact and doesnt put taylor or anyone else out for the day. no one wants to see the kids get hurt or their day (or season) end early because of one accident, and bikes can be fixed easier than limbs.
on the upside, i think it was the best turnout for the juniors we have ever had. it was awesome (but scary) to see that many juniors head into the first corner flat out.

official placings will be announced at the club meeting this wednesday, as presentations werent held at the track due to how late we were running. as far as i am aware, place getters will be recieving ribbons for their achievements, this is mostly because we are waiting for sponsorship money to come in and we cant spend what we dont have.

cheers.
