A few years ago i bought the wife a 150 falcon Kazuma quad,
I seriously thought that it would only last a few months to a year,
But this dam thing is total industructable!! , It's nearly 5 years old now and its used every weekend for around 8 to 10hrs per day & even some weekdays it would have way over 1800 hours on it.
Everybody told me don't touch the mongrel things ,but i don't have a bad word to say about them, The only issue that it had was when you done a jump or some how got the back wheels off the ground the chain would derail and you would come to a quick stop, but after looking at how the chain was set up i came up with the idea to move the top chain idler to a new position at the top of the swing arm and weld it into position, and presto it works perfect not a problem since.
I was having trouble with jumping my ex racer TRX450R , I couldn't perfect the take off so i had a brain storm to give the wifes bike a shot and if i crashed it , no problems just a couple a hundred bucks and she would have a brand new one, instead of a couple of thousand to repair a damaged honda . I wanted to find out from anyone if they know anybody who has done a dirt bike engine retro fit or some other major work to one of these things for a bit of performance as the wife bike has a whoppingly huuuuge 12 hp .Im up for anything as im a diesel mechanic by trade and i do the most stupid conversions (so the wife says) her all time favorite stupid conversion is my twin jet engine ride on lawn mower that im not game enough to ride so i just start it up for the wow factor, so any ridicules ideas im up for !!!!

you can pretty much fit whatever your imagination will allow. some engineering will be required to achieve the drive side swap though as most engines have the primary chain sprocket on the left hand side of the engine, but as the honda spacey scooter based engine is fitted to the falcon 150, the chain is on the right hand side of the rear axle. i'm not 100% sure, but it may be possible to flip the rear axle so that the rear sprocket ends up on the left, then just shoehorn an engine to suit your needs. be mindful though, that those axles are not the strongest thing and extra hp could cause grief. (the splines get torn offthe drive hub end) the rest of the frame etc however is heavy as, so if you're handy with a mig, you'll soon have whatever physically fits into the space available up and running. i was tempted to fit a yamaha rd400 2 stroke to a 110 falcon i had. it fitted in the available space because of the side by side twin configuration, but exhausts would have to be custom made at a cost higher than the value of the bike.

god luck with it , post your progress ,it should be fun

i have to agree on the life span i have 2 yamotos both 4 years old
and holding up just great we once looked at buying another full motor with electronics, throttle and clutch levers and cables from a trading company in china i think it was going to cost like $600 total including shipping for a 300cc motor and they were pretty sure the motor would bolt straight into the frame the only draw back was going to be the smaller fuel tank they told me for an extra $150 they could do the tank and replace the plastics .... for another $400 they would have sent me a whole bloody 300cc quad shipped as loose cargo

i have (well the missus does) a little 250 loncin engined apollo quad. had it around a year or so and i have jumped on and given this thing an absolute thrashing. I service it regularly, although i only put crappy home brand oil in it, and the engine has not missed a beat.. I had the same drama's with the chain tensioner and the original only lasted about 60kms. I made up a new teflon one (i am a fitter) and after six months the swing arm bushes (rubber) flogged out so i made some greasable brass ones.
For the 900 bucks i spent on it its been great, the missus loves it. Although she has recently been riding my kfx400 so i'm thinking about giving that to her and getting a 700!!!
