It doesn't take much but this certainly got my goat today. I went into a certain Honda shop down on South Road, Adelaide and ask some basic questions about the 09 trx450 if one is coming out.
Me. Just wondering if a 09 race spec Honda is coming out to match the other manufacturers in race ready specs.
Rep. What do you mean race spec. (smuggly)
Me. Kill switch, nerf bars etc, etc.
Rep. Doesn't cost much for a kill switch or nerfs. Would be just added to the total cost anyway.
Me. Not really i know of 2 brands that havn't. What about the 09 model?
Rep. I think so, but there will be no changes.
Me. Fair enough.
And that was it.
As you can see this guy was as keen as to sell me a new Quad. If Honda have reps like these i would be very concerned about the way they are trying to get the Honda name out to the new or upgrading customers.
Something as simple as this has left a sour taste in my month about this product because know i'll put his face to the Honda, ashame really.
That's my gripe today...feel better now. |

cant agree more. theres some real (really nice person) when it comes to sales reps etc.
last week i called causeway yamaha. after 30 seconds it was fininshed, few parts for an rz motor and the instant reply was "that will have to ex japan, it will take 4 weeks and you'll have to pay now".
that was it, i was interested anymore in talking to him.
but luckily i called back 2 days later hoping to get someone else and i did.
he was extremely helpfull and called me back twice after he called interstate to see if the parts were avalible.
so if anyone needs parts from causeway yamaha ask for Brendon.
sad to see thats how they do business... _________________ 01 Banshee

Had a very similar experience when I went to my local Honda dealer to purchase a TRX450. First he filled me full of crap about how he "knows all about quads" then proceded to make up what ever he thought he could get away with.
I bought the TRX450 from a country dealer who delivered it to my office in the city. I have purchased 3 quads from him so far.

Told me the 700xx won world quad of the year: what the hell is that? anyway we bought it later, but they dont know anything about quads Also told me when we picked it up that he could tell it had heaps of power and speed. All this from idleing in the carpark lol. |

I like it when they say that. My reply, 'Well throw it in for free if it doesn't cost much.'
There's very few decent motorbike or quad salesman here in Australia. Most of them are ignorant and/or arrogant. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

There not all are like that I know who you mean though I went there when we brought our trx400 to run the numbers fool was clueless truely there is also a un named kawasaki dealer not far from there who thought he was doing me a favour selling me a quad as you can see he didnt get the dollars we have purchased 4 quads in the last 6 months we were very happy with service from
pitmans for 350 raptor, 2 yz125's and yfz450
bills for trx400ex
and SA dirt bikes for kfx450r
these guys want to sell you a bike and couldent do enough for us and saved us some real dollars in the deal and gave us the good oil on all of them good and bad
so i would not bag all sales men for a few spankers |

Hey phrozin, good to know that there is good dealers out there that want to help, and who looked after you. The best way to advertise is through word of mouth.
Thanks for the comments ppl, hopefully this forum will be read by the ppl in question and lift their game throughout the industry. (not all sales reps only the ones i've mentioned indirectly aswell as this thread).
Cheers |
