What ever happened to the Wedge Island Banshee Riders Association in Western Australia? I know these guys existed but it was probably 5 or 6 years ago. I don't know how organised it was, does anybody know?

Last weekend I had a brief chat with a couple of blokes who were looking for a new place to ride. They said they had been riding at wedge for years and I think I heard something about a club (can't recall) , but now wedge is shut down for quads.

I'm not surprised to be honest. I went there camping a few years ago and there was kids riding around at night no helmets and some were two up on adult size quads !! WTF?

Also, it was a long weekend but we had an extra day and when we came back through wedge on the way home the amount of litter on the beach and in the dunes made me feel angry, ashamed and embarrassed.

Now all these meatheads will be out to ruin somewhere else untill it gets shut down.

I'm not saying it is the people you have enquired about, but I am worried about the few riding places left in WA.

Yeah I know it's pretty bad now. I heard that Gin Gin Shire have posted signs on the track in stating an on-the-spot fine for riding an off-road vehicle outside of the designated areas (Lancelin and Ledge). It's a shame that it's got so far for this to happen. As of now I don't know of anywhere you can legally camp/ride in Western Australia. And there is no beaches at all to ride.
